The Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPV) successfully conducted a Mass Anti-Rabies Vaccination Campaign in various barangays of Sebaste, Antique from May 19–21, 2026, as part of its continuing efforts to promote responsible pet ownership and protect communities from rabies.
A total of 706 dogs were vaccinated during the three-day activity:
• Brgy. Aras-asan – 153 dogs
• Brgy. Abiera – 311 dogs
• Brgy. Poblacion – 63 dogs
• Brgy. Aguila – 179 dogs
The OPV extends its gratitude to the Local Government Unit of Sebaste, barangay officials, and pet owners for their cooperation and support in making this campaign a success.

The Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPV), in collaboration with the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of Patnongon, conducted a monitoring activity of cattle distributed under the Native Animal Dispersal Program in Brgy. Quezon, Patnongon, Antique last May 21, 2026.
The activity aimed to assess the condition and performance of the dispersed cattle, ensure proper animal management practices among recipients, and provide technical assistance to support livestock productivity and sustainability. Regular monitoring serves as an essential component of the program in promoting responsible animal stewardship and improving the livelihoods of beneficiary farmers.

Strengthening livelihoods through knowledge, skills development, and continuous support.
The Office of the Provincial Veterinarian conducted a coordination meeting last May 7, 2026 with the 12 officers of the Tobias Fornier United Livestock and Poultry Raisers Association (TF-ULPRA) and 15 officers of the Rural Improvement Club (RIC) Municipal Federation of Tobias Fornier in preparation for the upcoming Financial Literacy Training for members of the Egaña Livestock and Poultry Raisers Association on August 13, 2026, and the Packaging, Labeling, and Marketing Training for selected RIC members on July 24, 2026.
The training aims to help participants identify different types of food packaging, understand the essential parts of product labels, recognize the importance of proper packaging and labeling, and determine the most suitable packaging and labeling practices for their products.
In addition, monitoring of the Cattle Production Project under the Gender and Development (GAD) Program was conducted among beneficiaries in Ysulat, Tobias Fornier to assess project implementation and provide continued support to livestock raisers.
Through these initiatives, the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian remains committed to empowering communities, enhancing entrepreneurial skills, and promoting sustainable livestock and agricultural development.

The Department of Agriculture–Philippine Carabao Center (DA-PCC), in collaboration with the Municipal Agriculture Office of Patnongon and the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian, successfully conducted the PCC Bayanihan Program at Brgy. La Rioja, Patnongon, Antique last May 19, 2026.
This community-based initiative aims to improve carabao breeds, promote animal health, and enhance the livelihood of local livestock raisers through the delivery of essential veterinary and breeding services.
As part of the program, farmers were provided with direct technical assistance through the Carabao Herd Improvement Program (CHIP), which focuses on the management and genetic improvement of carabao herds in partnership with local government units. Veterinary services such as artificial insemination, estrus synchronization, pregnancy diagnosis, and general animal health care were also rendered to support sustainable livestock production in the community.
The PCC Bayanihan Program reflects the continued commitment of DA-PCC and its partners to strengthen the livestock sector and improve the productivity and welfare of farming communities.

This initiative is part of the continuous efforts to protect communities from rabies and promote responsible pet ownership through regular vaccination of dogs.

The Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPV) successfully conducted a Mass Anti-Rabies Vaccination at Sinaja, Belison, Antique last April 22, 2026.
A total of 87 dogs were vaccinated during the activity, contributing to the continued effort in promoting responsible pet ownership and safeguarding public health against rabies.

The Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPV) successfully conducted a Mass Anti-Rabies Vaccination in Poblacion, Belison, Antique last April 21, 2026.
A total of 177 dogs were vaccinated during the activity, contributing to the ongoing efforts in promoting responsible pet ownership and ensuring the safety and health of the community against rabies.
We extend our appreciation to all pet owners and stakeholders who participated and supported this initiative.

The Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPV) carried out a Mass Anti-Rabies Vaccination campaign in Boroc-Boroc, Delima, and Ipil, Belison, Antique last April 14–16, 2026.
This initiative was made possible through the strong collaboration with the Municipal Agriculturist Office, and with the valuable assistance of Mr. Reynaldo Gellang, MAO Technician.
Through this effort, OPV continues its commitment in safeguarding both animal and public health by preventing the spread of rabies in our communities.

The Office of the Provincial Veterinarian held a closing program after a four session Training on Organic Poultry Production at Egaña, Sibalom, Antique last March 25, 2026. Forty six graduates who were farmer leaders from different barangays namely P*s anan, Cabladan, Villar, Biga-a, Calog, Egaña, Inabasan, District II, District IV, Lacaron and Cubay Sermon were awarded certificates of completion. Most of the participants had successfully finished their NC 2 Animal Production Course conducted by TESDA last year.
The training focused on Feed Formulation, Poultry Production and other natural farming methods or technologies in order to produce an organically grown chicken.
The activity was grazed by SB Members from Sibalom, Hon. AC Vego and Hon Gerry Jabile who gave inspirational messages to the graduates. Also present was Provincial Veterinarian, Dr. Florencio Macuja with the speakers, Mr. Joel Opiña and Mrs. Jofelyn May H. Teodoro, other OPV-LPPD technical staff, facilitated by Mrs. Luela S. Furio. It was hosted by Egaña Livestock and Poultry Raisers Association (ELPRA) through their president Mrs. Emiline Estrera.

The Office of the Provincial Veterinarian conducted an Organic Feed Production and Silage Making Technology Training in Libertad, Antique for 19 members of the Union Agri-tourism Association (UNATA), a DOLE-registered association last April 8, 2026.
The activity aimed to support members currently engaged in swine and poultry production who are interested in adopting sustainable and organic feeding practices. Through a combination of lecture and hands-on demonstration, participants were guided on feed formulation and the proper process of silage making.
This initiative plays a vital role in reducing dependence on costly commercial feeds, improving farm productivity, and promoting the efficient use of locally available resources. By equipping farmers with practical knowledge and skills, it contributes to more sustainable, resilient, and economically viable livestock production systems within the community.
