HAPPENING NOW!

The Tamaraw Festival gathers various LGUs, government offices, and partner agencies in a united effort to support the conservation of our countryโ€™s iconic and endangered Tamaraw (Bubalus mindorensis) โ€” a proud symbol of Mindoroโ€™s rich biodiversity.

This celebration serves as a reminder of our shared responsibility to protect our natural heritage and strengthen collaboration for a sustainable future.

A Refresher Training on the Spatial Monitoring and Reporting Tool (SMART) for Data Collectors was held on September 8โ€“9, 2025. The training aimed to enhance the rangersโ€™ skills in accurate data collection, particularly in the proper identification and classification of field observations within the SMART system. Participants included TCP Rangers, with John Carlo Santos, Protection and Law Enforcement Officer of Dโ€™ABOVILLE Foundation and Demo Farm, Inc. (DAF) serving as the resource person.

SMART is a widely used software platform for conservation, law enforcement, and protected area management. Within the Tamaraw Conservation Program (TCP), it serves as a vital patrolling and monitoring tool that supports ongoing efforts for the conservation of the tamaraw.
