π‹πŽπŽπŠ: Personnel of CGSS Carabao Island joined a Coastal Clean-Up Drive along the shoreline of Sitio Inobahan, Barangay Poblacion, San Jose, Romblon, in collaboration with teachers and students of San Jose Agricultural National High School, the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), and barangay officials on 24 January 2026.

The clean-up covered approximately 500 meters of shoreline and resulted in the collection of nine (9) sacks of assorted coastal waste, mostly plastic and other non-biodegradable materials, with a total of 45 participants taking part in the activity.

The activity aimed to promote environmental cleanliness and strengthen marine environmental protection efforts.

π‹πŽπŽπŠ: Personnel of the Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Carabao Island successfully conducted a Baywatch Patrol Operation along the shoreline vicinities of Barangay Lanas and Barangay Poblacion, San Jose, Romblon today, 30 December 2025.

The patrol operation was carried out to ensure the safety of beachgoers, strengthen maritime safety and security, and prevent drowning incidents and other untoward events during recreational activities along the coastal areas.

The activity aimed to enhance the visibility of the Philippine Coast Guard, promote public awareness of coastal and water safety, and encourage cooperation among beachgoers, local residents, and resort operators in maintaining a safe recreational environment.

The Philippine Coast Guard remains committed to safeguarding lives and property at sea and will continue to conduct regular patrols and safety operations, especially in coastal and tourist areas.

π‹πŽπŽπŠ: Coast Guard Station (CGS) Romblon, together with its sub-stations and operational control units, is placed under Heightened Alert Status from 20 December 2025 to 04 January 2026 in support of the implementation of OPLAN BYAHENG AYOS: PASKO 2025, aimed at ensuring the safety, security, and convenience of the riding public during the Yuletide travel season.

As part of the coordinated efforts, Passenger Assistance Centers (PACs) are activated at strategic ports and passenger terminals across the Province of Romblon to provide immediate assistance, address passenger concerns, and render medical support when necessary. These measures are intended to enhance passenger welfare and ensure the efficient flow of maritime transport operations.

Through strengthened port presence, continuous monitoring, the strategic deployment of Philippine Coast Guard personnel, and the full activation of PACs, CGS Romblon remains committed to ensuring the safe, secure, and orderly movement of the riding public throughout this peak travel period.

π‹πŽπŽπŠ: The Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Carabao Island assisted in the loading and distribution of relief goods to families temporarily sheltered following the onslaught of Typhoon β€œUwan” in Barangay Pinamihagan, San Jose, Romblon, today, 10 November 2025.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) San Jose, led by Ms. Ammie Visca, requested support from CGSS Carabao Island for the loading of relief goods at the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) Office. Coast Guard personnel promptly responded and assisted in preparing and loading the supplies onto the municipal truck.

Together with Municipal Mayor Hon. Ronnie D. Samson, MDRRMO, BFP, MPS San Jose, and barangay officials, CGSS personnel facilitated the orderly distribution of food packs to 94 affected individuals. Welfare checks were also conducted for vulnerable residents, including the elderly, women, and children.

CGSS Carabao Island remains steadfast in its commitment to providing timely assistance and ensuring the safety and welfare of the community during emergencies and adverse weather conditions.
