IP Community Benefits from Serbisyo Caravan in Mayantoc, Tarlac
Mangatarem, Pangasinan – In its continuing quest to support and sustain the peace and development effort of the government, the 71st Infantry (Kaibigan) Battalion, 7ID, PA partnered with the Provincial Government of Tarlac, various stakeholders, and other line agencies in facilitating the conduct of Serbisyo Caravan and Outreach Program to the Indigenous Peoples in Barangay Labney, Mayantoc, Tarlac on December 6, 2024.
With the theme, "Tulong Gayyem, Manipud iti Puso", around 200 members of the Abelling Tribe benefitted from free medical check-ups, wellness activities, legal consultations, and free haircut services. Free medicines, multivitamins, slippers, clothing, and food packs were also distributed to the IP children, including Labney Integrated School's elementary pupils.
The IP community headed by Hon. Ferdinand Ventanilla, Kagawad of Abelling Tribe expressed his gratitude to the national and local government agencies, Non-Governmental Organizations, and to the Kaibigan Battalion for the delivery of social services given to them.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Benny C Singca, Commanding Officer of the 71st IB expressed his gratitude to the different partner stakeholders for their endless support and dedication to the community empowerment programs initiated by the unit. He further assured that the Kaibigan Battalion will continuously sustain the strong collaboration and partnership with various government agencies and stakeholders towards empowering the vulnerable sectors, especially those communities that are identified as geographically isolated and disadvantaged.
The Serbisyo Caravan was made possible through the strong collaboration of the various government instrumentalities such as the Provincial Government of Tarlac, the Department of Agrarian Reform-Tarlac, the Technical Education Skills and Development Association, the Provincial Employment and Service Office, PSWDO, and the Local Government Unit of Mayantoc; and the generous support of non-governmental organizations including Touching Hearts, Healing Hands, Victorian Mula sa Puso Foundation, Inc., Pitik-Kawal, and ABS-CBN Foundation.
