On 01 June 2020, the Battalion once again relocated at Brgy White Cliff, San Narciso, Quezon.

The 85th Infantry Sandiwa Battalion was activated pursuant to Section I & III, General Orders Nr 145, HPA dated 16 March 2010 effective 15 February 2010. The Battalion was organized originally from the core members of the 10th Philippine Contingent in Haiti (10PCH) and the 12th Philippine Contingent in Liberia (12PCL). On 16 March 2010, the Battalion has been assigned at Hqs 2nd Infantry Division, Philippine Army and by 16 April 2010, the Battalion was deployed in Masbate OPCON to 9ID for its first mission of safeguarding an Honest, Orderly and Peaceful National & Local Elections (HOPE) at the 3rd District of Masbate covering eight (8) municipalities until 29 July 2010, the Battalion returned to H2ID at Camp Capinpin, Tanay, Rizal for Battalion Retraining. After the retraining, on 12 December 2010, the Battalion officially deployed to conduct Internal Security Operation at Quezon Province and took over the AOR of 76IB covering the 15 Municipalities and installed its Battalion Headquarters at Brgy Villa Principe, Gumaca, Quezon. On the Year 2020, the Battalion was relocated from Brgy Villa Principe, Gumaca to Brgy San Vicente, Macalelon. The 85th Infantry Battalion has been serving the people of Quezon Province for more than 10 Years and counting with a core purpose: Serving the People, Securing the Land.

The Municipality of Lucban, Quezon commemorated the 3rd Anniversary of its Declaration of Stable Internal Peace and Security (SIPS) on Monday, October 12 in Lucban, Quezon. The activity was attended by Atty. Socorro Jane Averia, Acting Municipal Administrator, representing the Municipal Mayor. Representing the 201st Infantry (Kabalikat) Brigade was Brigadier General Francis Carandang, Commander, while the 85th Infantry (Sandiwa) Battalion was represented by its Executive Officer, Major Jaroun Ongog.

The commemoration highlighted the continued partnership among the local government, security forces, and the community in sustaining peace, security, and development in Lucban, Quezon.

EMPOWERING THE YOUTH, BUILDING FUTURE LEADERS!

Nakikiisa ang 85th Infantry (Sandiwa) Battalion, Philippine Army, kasama ang 4th Special Forces Battalion, 2nd Quezon Provincial Mobile Force Company (2nd QPMFC), at 201st Infantry Brigade, sa pagsasagawa ng 3-Day 14th BONPEN Youth Leadership Summit na may temang “Empowering Young Leaders Through Character, Competence, Service, and Resilience,” na ginanap sa Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) Mulanay Campus.

Layunin ng aktibidad na linangin ang kakayahan, disiplina, at pamumuno ng mga kabataan upang maging responsable, matatag, at aktibong katuwang sa pagbuo ng mas maayos at mapayapang pamayanan.

Sa pamamagitan ng sama-samang pakikiisa at suporta ng mga nasabing yunit, binibigyang-diin ang kahalagahan ng pagkakaroon ng matibay na karakter, sapat na kakayahan, malasakit sa kapwa, at katatagan sa pagharap sa mga hamon ng buhay. Higit sa pagiging lider ngayon, hinuhubog ang mga kabataang magiging inspirasyon at pag-asa ng susunod na henerasyon.

Dahil ang tunay na lider ay hindi lamang marunong mamuno—siya ay may paninindigan, handang maglingkod, at matatag sa anumang pagsubok!

🇵🇭 85IB, HINUHUBOG ANG SUSUNOD NA HENERASYON NG MGA PINUNO SA PAMAMAGITAN NG PROJECT SISIBOL

“Ang tunay na pamumuno ay nagsisimula sa disiplina, responsibilidad, at malasakit sa kapwa.”

Noong ika-08 ng Oktubre 2026, nagsagawa ang Bravo Company, 85th Infantry (SANDIWA) Battalion, ng programang “Ugnayan sa Paaralan” sa covered court ng NHS, Barangay White Cliff, San Narciso, Quezon, na dinaluhan ng humigit-kumulang 86 na mag-aaral sa pakikipag-ugnayan sa pamunuan ng paaralan.

Bilang bahagi ng aktibidad, itinampok ang Project SISIBOL (Steadfast Initiative for Student Inspired to be Outstanding Leader), isang inisyatibang naglalayong linangin ang kakayahan ng mga kabataan sa pamumuno, disiplina, pananagutan, kahandaan sa kaligtasan, at pagprotekta sa kapakanan ng kapwa. Sa pamamagitan nito, hinikayat ang mga mag-aaral na maging aktibo, responsable, at mabuting halimbawa sa kanilang paaralan at komunidad.

Binigyang-diin din ng aktibidad na ang pagiging pinuno ay hindi lamang nasusukat sa posisyon o katungkulan, kundi higit sa kakayahang manguna sa pamamagitan ng mabuting halimbawa, tamang pagpapasya, at malasakit sa iba.

Patuloy na isinusulong ng 85IB ang mga programang nagbibigay-kakayahan sa kabataan upang malinang ang kanilang potensiyal at maihanda sila bilang mga responsableng lider na may matibay na pagpapahalaga at dedikasyon sa paglilingkod sa bayan.

Ngayong 07 Oktubre 2026, isinasagawa ang seremonya para sa paggunita ng Ikatlong Anibersaryo ng Deklarasyon ng Stable Internal Peace and Security (SIPS) ng Bayan ng General Luna, Quezon, sa Covered Court, Brgy. 4, General Luna, Quezon.

Nakikiisa ang 85th Infantry “SANDIWA” Battalion, Philippine Army, kasama ang Pamahalaang Bayan ng General Luna, DILG, PNP, at iba pang katuwang na sektor sa mahalagang paggunita na nagpapakita ng patuloy na pagtutulungan para sa pagpapanatili ng kapayapaan at seguridad sa bayan.

Ang seremonya ay nagsisilbing pagkilala sa sama-samang pagsisikap ng pamahalaang lokal, mga ahensya ng seguridad, at komunidad tungo sa patuloy na kapayapaan, seguridad, at kaunlaran ng General Luna, Quezon.

🇵🇭 STRENGTHENING DISCIPLINE AND INTEGRITY AMONG SANDIWA TROOPS

On 07 October 2026, the Office of the 2nd Infantry Division Provost Marshal conducted a lecture for the personnel of the 85th Infantry “SANDIWA” Battalion at FOB Rizalino, Pitogo, Quezon.

The activity focused on Investigation Protocols, Military Ethics Standards, and Special Laws to enhance the troops’ understanding of proper investigative procedures, ethical standards, and applicable laws and regulations in the performance of their duties.

The lecture further emphasized the importance of discipline, accountability, integrity, and professionalism in maintaining the highest standards of military service. It resulted in increased awareness among the personnel on their responsibilities and the proper conduct expected of every Philippine Army soldier.

Through continuous education and guidance, the 85IB remains committed to developing disciplined, professional, and law-abiding soldiers dedicated to serving the Filipino people. 🫡🇵🇭

𝐋𝐔𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐀 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘 — Patuloy ang 𝐊𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐍 𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐙𝐎𝐍 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 noong Setyembre 17, 2026, tampok ang 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐩𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 sa Lucena City.

Isinagawa ang simulation exercise upang masukat at higit pang mapalakas ang kahandaan, mabilis na pagtugon, koordinasyon, at interoperability ng iba't ibang yunit at ahensya sa pagtugon sa mga insidenteng nangangailangan ng sama-samang pagkilos.

Tampok sa pagsasanay ang search and rescue, medical response, evacuation, incident coordination, at iba pang kaugnay na disaster response operations.

Nakibahagi rito ang iba't ibang yunit mula sa Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Local Government Units (LGUs), disaster response offices, health and medical services, at iba pang katuwang na ahensya at stakeholders. Sa pamamagitan ng sama-samang pagsasanay, higit na napapalakas ang ugnayan at koordinasyon ng bawat organisasyon upang maging handa sa anumang sitwasyong maaaring mangailangan ng mabilis at organisadong pagtugon.

Sa diwa ng “One Province, One Response,” patuloy na pinagtitibay ng KATATAGAN Quezon 2026 ang pagkakaisa at pagtutulungan ng mga ahensya at stakeholders para sa kaligtasan at kahandaan ng bawat Quezonian.

QUEZON — Sa patuloy na pagsusulong ng malasakit at serbisyong pangkomunidad, nagsagawa ang Team Jesus, sa pangunguna ni Dra. Sheila Aranas at mga Servant Team Leaders, ng serye ng medical outreach activities sa Pagbilao at Pitogo, Quezon, noong 16 at 17 September 2026, katuwang ang mga local government units, barangay officials, private organizations, at security personnel mula sa 85th Infantry “SANDIWA” Battalion, 22nd Cavalry Company, at Philippine National Police.

Noong 16 September 2026, isinagawa ang Medical Outreach Program sa Brgy. Ilayang Pulo, Pagbilao, sa pakikipagtulungan ng Watsons, sa pangunguna ni Lexie Coloma, Senior Manager for Sustainability, Watsons Philippines, kasama ang SM Foundation, Sangguniang Bayan of Pagbilao, at barangay officials. Kabilang sa mga serbisyong ipinagkaloob ang medical consultation, dental extraction, minor surgery, ECG, at laboratory services.

Sinundan ito noong 17 September 2026 ng Medical and Dental Mission sa Brgy. Rizalino, Pitogo, kung saan muling nanguna ang Team Jesus sa paghahatid ng libreng serbisyong pangkalusugan. Sa pakikipag-ugnayan sa barangay officials at suporta ng 85IB at 22nd Cavalry Company, naihatid sa mga residente mula sa Brgys. Sisirin, B**a, at Rizalino ang libreng medical consultation, dental extraction, medicines, at reading glasses.

Bilang bahagi ng community engagement, namahagi rin ng information leaflets hinggil sa West Philippine Sea (WPS) at Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP) upang mapalawak ang kaalaman at kamalayan ng mga benepisyaryo hinggil sa mahahalagang usapin at programa ng pamahalaan.

Ang dalawang araw na medical outreach ay nagpapakita ng kahalagahan ng whole-of-community approach, kung saan nagsanib-puwersa ang mga pribadong organisasyon, civic groups, local government units, barangay officials, at security forces upang mailapit ang kinakailangang serbisyo sa mga komunidad.

Sa pamamagitan ng Team Jesus at mga katuwang nitong organisasyon, patuloy na naihahatid ang serbisyong pangkalusugan mas malapit sa mamamayan—may malasakit, pagkakaisa, at tunay na serbisyo sa bayan.

𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐖𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊 𝐓𝐇𝐔𝐑𝐒𝐃𝐀𝐘 | On September 14–15, 2019, the 85th Infantry (Sandiwa) Battalion helped host the 8th PUP Gen. Luna Campus Youth Leadership Summit, a Bayanihan initiative in partnership with the PNP, the Religious Sector, and other community partners.

Freshmen from across the Bondoc Peninsula participated to develop their leadership skills, promote peace, and foster collaboration. The event highlighted teamwork, learning, and the shared commitment to guiding the next generation of leaders.

𝐊𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐍 𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐙𝐎𝐍: 𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐚

KATATAGAN Quezon 2026 continued today, September 17, at the Alcala Sports Complex in Lucena City with a High-Rise Building Rescue and Urban Search and Rescue Exercise.

Following a simulated explosion and collapse of a three-story building, PNP personnel secured the area while PNP and PCG Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams checked for unexploded ordnance (UXO).

Under the activated Incident Management Team, BFP and PCG conducted search and rescue and evacuated simulated casualties, highlighting high-angle rescue from the building’s third floor. Medical teams from the AFP, BFP, PDRRMO, and Philippine Red Cross provided immediate care.

The exercise strengthened interoperability, readiness and the ability operate under one command.
