ELDERLY WEEK 2025

Our elders are the living pillars of our history, culture, and values. They’ve spent a lifetime caring for us, it is now our duty to protect and care for them.

One of my top priority measures, House Bill No. 2012, or the “Anti-Elder Abuse Law of 2025,” was filed at the opening of the 20th Congress. This proposed law seeks to define and prohibit all forms of elder abuse, and to ensure that those who exploit, harm, or neglect our elderly are held accountable.

Despite our culture of honoring the elderly, many of them silently endure abuse, physical, emotional, psychological, or financial, often by those closest to them. HB 2012 aims to break that silence, protect the dignity of our elders, and create a legal framework that defends their rights and welfare.

Our senior citizens deserve more than just respect, they deserve protection, care, and justice.
