CLASSROOM-BASED WAR ON DRUGS POSTER-MAKING ACTIVITY AMONG GRADE 7 LEARNERS

On September 25, 2026, Mr. Mark Kevin G. Villamarzo, NDEP Coordinator, conducted a Classroom-Based War on Drugs Poster-Making Activity among 85 Grade 7 learners of Vicenta S. David National High School (VSDNHS). The activity was integrated into the learners’ Arts and Health classes, providing them with an opportunity to apply their creativity and artistic skills while deepening their understanding of drug prevention and healthy lifestyle choices. Through this integration, the activity reinforced the connection between creative expression and health education.

During the activity, the Grade 7 learners created posters featuring messages related to drug prevention, responsible decision-making, healthy living, and the importance of maintaining a drug-free school and community. As part of their Arts learning competencies, the learners utilized elements of art, visual design, and creative presentation to effectively communicate their advocacy messages. Meanwhile, the integration into Health education enabled learners to demonstrate their understanding of the harmful effects of illegal drugs and the importance of making informed decisions that contribute to their physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being.

The activity was supported by Mrs. Juliet M. Bulahan, School Head, together with the concerned school personnel and teachers. Through the collaborative efforts of the NDEP Coordinator and the teaching staff, the poster-making activity strengthened the school’s drug prevention and awareness initiatives while providing a meaningful interdisciplinary learning experience. The integration of NDEP advocacy into Arts and Health classes encouraged learner participation, creativity, health awareness, responsibility, and active involvement in promoting a safe, healthy, and drug-free school environment.
