Sta. Rita Fire Station personnel lead by SFO2 Theodore Winston D Porbus, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, actively participated in the Road Clearing Operations spearheaded by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Sta. Rita.

The activity was conducted in support of the LGU’s continuing efforts to ensure clear, safe, and accessible roadways within the municipality. It also aimed to help maintain unobstructed routes for emergency response vehicles, thereby facilitating the prompt and efficient delivery of fire and emergency medical services whenever the need arises.

The participation of Sta. Rita Fire Station underscores its commitment to inter-agency cooperation, public safety, emergency preparedness, and effective community service, in coordination with the LGU and other concerned stakeholders.

Sta. Rita Fire Station personnel, under the leadership of SFO2 Theodore Winston D Porbus, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, responded to an emergency incident involving a vehicle that accidentally fell into an unfinished road construction area at Barangay Binanalan, Sta. Rita, Samar.

The incident occurred amid heavy rainfall and dense fog, which significantly reduced visibility in the area, resulting in the driver’s inability to clearly see the unfinished portion of the road.

Upon arrival, responding personnel immediately assessed the situation and conducted appropriate rescue and vehicle recovery operations, ensuring the safety of the vehicle occupants and other individuals at the scene.

The Sta. Rita Fire Station likewise extends its commendation and appreciation to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Sta. Rita for their swift assistance and effective coordination during the operation. Their prompt response and support contributed to the safe and orderly conduct of the rescue and recovery efforts.

This incident serves as a reminder to motorists to exercise extreme caution and reduce speed when driving during heavy rain and poor-visibility conditions, particularly in areas with ongoing road construction.

Sta. Rita Fire Station personnel, under the leadership of SFO2 Theodore Winston D Porbus, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, responded top a series of Medical Emergency, involving patients requiring immediate medical assistance and transport.

At 1628H, September 26, 2026, personnel responded to a walk-in emergency call involving a late-adult male experiencing chest pain and generalized body weakness, with visible signs of jaundice. Necessary first aid and immediate medical assistance were provided before the patient was transported to Eastern Visayas Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment.

At 2033H, personnel responded to an emergency involving an adult pregnant female in active labor. Necessary assistance was administered, and the patient was subsequently transported to RHU Sta. Rita for appropriate medical care.

At 0429H, September 27, 2026, Sta. Rita Fire Station personnel responded to another emergency involving an adult pregnant female in active labor. Necessary medical assistance was provided, followed by transport to Solis Birthing Clinic for further maternal care.
