A proud member of the PMA "MATATAG" Class of 1981, hea served the nation with honor through various key leadership positions and later as Officer-in-Charge of the PNP. His steadfast leadership, professionalism, and unwavering sense of duty continue to inspire generations of police officers and public servants.

Ang tunay na pagbabago ay nagsisimula kapag ang mga pangangailangan ng isang komunidad ay natutugunan hindi lamang sa usapin ng seguridad, kundi pati sa mga programang nagpapabuti sa araw-araw na pamumuhay ng bawat pamilya.

Sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni PNP Chief, PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., patuloy na isinusulong ng Philippine National Police ang mga programang nagdadala ng pangmatagalang pagbabago sa mga komunidad. Noong Hulyo 18, 2026, matagumpay na isinagawa ng Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, katuwang ang mga lokal na pamahalaan, mga ahensya ng pamahalaan, pribadong sektor, at iba pang stakeholder, ang turnover ng Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay (R-PSB) Quick Impact Projects at Serbisyong Gobyerno Caravan sa Barangay Victoria, San Andres, Romblon.

Bunga ito ng anim na buwang paninirahan ng Romblon Provincial Mobile Force Company R-PSB Team sa barangay upang matukoy at matugunan ang mga pangunahing pangangailangan ng komunidad sa ilalim ng Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay Program.

Kabilang sa mga naiturnover ang dalawang Amakan Houses, isang community water storage tank, dalawang kiosks, dalawang toilet facilities sa Pader Falls, at 25 household toilet facilities na magpapabuti sa sanitasyon, kapakanan ng komunidad, at lokal na turismo. Nagtapos din ang mga residente sa Organic Agriculture Production NC II ng TESDA, na magbibigay sa kanila ng dagdag na oportunidad sa kabuhayan.

Nakinabang din ang daan-daang residente sa Serbisyong Gobyerno Caravan sa pamamagitan ng pamamahagi ng food packs, mga gamot, bitamina, vegetable at fruit-bearing tree seedlings, libreng gupit, at iba pang serbisyong inilapit ng iba’t ibang ahensya ng pamahalaan.

Ayon kay PGEN Nartatez, “True public service is measured by the positive change that people experience in their daily lives. Kapag ang pulisya at komunidad ay nagtutulungan, mas marami tayong buhay na nabibigyan ng pag-asa at pagkakataon.”

Dagdag pa niya, “The Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay Program shows that policing goes beyond maintaining peace and order. Patuloy nating ilalapit ang mga programang may tunay na pakinabang upang maramdaman ng bawat mamamayan na may pamahalaang handang umalalay sa kanila.”

Ang mga inisyatibong ito ay bahagi ng PNP Focused Agenda—isang gabay sa patuloy na pagbabago ng organisasyon upang higit pang mapalapit sa mamamayan ang serbisyo ng pulisya. Kabilang sa mga pangunahing prayoridad nito ang Enhanced Managing Police Operations at Active Community Support, na isinasabuhay sa pamamagitan ng pagtutulungan ng pulisya, pamahalaan, at komunidad.

MOST WANTED CHINESE NATIONAL NABBED; SUSPECT AN EX-POGO EMPLOYEE

The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested CALABARZON’s No. 1 Most Wanted Person, a 34-year-old Chinese national and former Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) employee, during a joint operation on July 17, 2026, in Barangay Looc, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

The suspect, identified only by the alias “Xi,” was arrested through a joint operation by the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region, the National Capital Region Police Office, Police Regional Office 4A, in coordination with the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) Task Force. She was apprehended by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for Robbery under Article 294, Paragraph 5 of the Revised Penal Code, as amended.

Following her arrest, alias “Xi” was properly documented and is now under the custody of the Dumaguete City Police Station pending her turnover to the issuing court and the completion of all required legal procedures.

“The arrest of most wanted fugitives shows that no one is above the law, regardless of nationality. It reflects our determination to ensure that those facing criminal charges are brought before the courts,” said PGEN Nartatez.

“Patuloy nating tutugisin ang mga wanted na indibidwal upang mapanagot sila sa kanilang mga ginawa at mapanatiling ligtas ang ating mga komunidad,” he added.

HINDI BARYA, KUNDI ISANG “HALIKA, KAIN TAYO” ANG INIALOK NG SAF SA MGA BATANG NAMAMALIMOS

Sa isang mundong madalas abala sa mabilis na takbo ng buhay, ang pag-asa ay minsang nagsisimula sa isang simpleng “Halika, kain tayo”—isang paanyayang kayang punuin hindi lamang ang sikmura, kundi maging ang puso.

Sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni PNP Chief, PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., muling pinatunayan ng Philippine National Police na ang tunay na paglilingkod ay hindi lamang nasusukat sa pagpapatupad ng batas, kundi maging sa mga simpleng pagkakataong naipapakita ang malasakit sa kapwa.

Noong Hulyo 11, 2026, habang pauwi mula sa Turnover of Command Ceremony ng 11th Special Action Battalion sa Lamut, Ifugao, huminto si PCOL Jonathan G. Calixto, Acting Deputy Director ng Philippine National Police Special Action Force (PNP SAF), kasama ang mga Headquarters SAF personnel, sa isang lokal na kainan sa San Jose, Nueva Vizcaya upang mananghalian.

Habang sila ay kumakain, napansin nila ang ilang batang tahimik na nakatingin sa mga kumakain sa loob ng kainan, habang ang iba naman ay lumalapit upang mamalimos ng kaunting barya. Sa halip na magbigay lamang ng limos, tinawag ni PCOL Calixto ang mga bata at hiniling sa may-ari ng kainan na ihanda ang anumang pagkaing nais nilang kainin. Sa kanyang payak na paanyaya—“Dito kayo… pili kayo ng gusto n’yong kainin.”—napalitan ng mga ngiti ang kanilang pag-aalinlangan.

Sa hapag na iyon, hindi lamang pagkain ang naihain. Naramdaman din ng mga bata ang pag-aaruga at pagpapahalaga na matagal nilang maaalala. Ang kanilang masasayang ngiti habang magkakasamang kumakain ay naging paalala na ang pinakamalalaking pagbabago ay maaari ring magsimula sa pinakasimpleng kabutihan.

Bago sila umalis, nagbigay rin si PCOL Calixto ng tulong pinansyal upang makatulong sa pang-araw-araw na pangangailangan ng mga bata. Bilang pasasalamat, niyakap ng mga ito si PCOL Calixto at ang mga SAF personnel—isang taos-pusong yakap na nagsalita nang higit pa sa anumang salita at nagpatunay na ang malasakit ay may kakayahang mag-iwan ng pag-asang hindi madaling malimutan.

Ang mga ngiting nabuo sa hapag-kainan noong araw na iyon ay nagsilbing paalala na ang tunay na diwa ng paglilingkod ay hindi lamang nakikita sa pagpapanatili ng kapayapaan, kundi pati sa kakayahang magbigay ng pag-asa sa mga higit na nangangailangan.

PNP NABS NORTHERN MINDANAO’S NO. 1 REGIONAL MOST WANTED FOR S*X CRIMES

The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of PNP Chief, PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested Northern Mindanao’s No. 1 Regional Most Wanted Person for s*x crimes during an operation conducted on July 17, 2026, in Barangay Kulasihan, Lantapan, Bukidnon, delivering another significant accomplishment in the campaign against fugitives facing charges for crimes against children.

The suspect, known only by the alias “Austin,” a 62-year-old Filipino male from Lantapan, Bukidnon, was arrested by personnel of the Lantapan Municipal Police Station under the Bukidnon Police Provincial Office, Police Regional Office 10, together with other police operating units. He was apprehended by virtue of six Warrants of Arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court, 10th Judicial Region, Branch 9, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, consisting of three counts of Statutory R**e, with no bail recommended, and three counts of Acts of Lasciviousness.

Investigation disclosed that the minor victim allegedly became vulnerable to abuse because of the trust and confidence reposed in the accused. Concerned relatives later observed changes in the victim’s behavior and school performance, prompting them to seek assistance from authorities, which eventually led to the filing of the appropriate criminal charges before the court.

The accused is now under the custody of the Lantapan Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.

PGEN Nartatez emphasized the PNP’s determination to ensure that individuals accused of serious crimes are held accountable before the law. “No individual can hide from the reach of justice. Our law enforcement efforts remain focused on locating and arresting wanted persons so they can answer for the charges filed against them in court.”

He also urged the public to remain vigilant and help protect children from abuse. “Hindi tayo titigil hangga’t napapanagot ang mga nang-aabuso sa ating mga kabataan. Mahalaga ang pakikipagtulungan ng pamilya at komunidad upang maprotektahan ang bawat bata laban sa anumang uri ng pang-aabuso.”

PNP TRACKS DOWN TALISAY GUNMAN THROUGH UNIFIED 911

The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., tracked down a gunman involved in a shooting incident in Talisay City, Negros Occidental after police immediately acted on an emergency call received through the Unified 911 System, a vital public safety service under the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) led by Secretary Juanito Victor C. Remulla Jr., on July 16, 2026.

Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO NIR) reported that personnel of the Talisay Component City Police Station immediately responded to the emergency alert and launched hot pursuit and dragnet operations, leading to the arrest of the gunman, identified only by the alias “Tyanak,” a 34-year-old male pedicab driver from Talisay City.

Investigation disclosed that the incident occurred after the 48-year-old victim went to a tricycle terminal to look for his child’s cellular phone, which had allegedly been left inside a tricycle. There, he encountered the gunman, who allegedly threatened him before firing a single shot using an improvised firearm. The victim was not hit, while the assailant fled the area but was later arrested during the pursuit operations. The gunman later admitted throwing the improvised firearm into a nearby river. Despite search efforts, the weapon has yet to be recovered.

“Every emergency call gives our police officers the opportunity to act before offenders can evade the law. This case highlights the importance of immediate police response in protecting lives and preserving peace in our communities,” said PGEN Nartatez.
