The future of education is built not on reacting to disasters, but on reducing the risks that create them.

Today, schools face an alarming range of safety and wellbeing concerns affecting young people—risks that extend beyond traditional hazards and now touch the emotional, social, and protective environments where learning is meant to thrive. This reality calls for a stronger, more intentional approach to safety in education systems.

This National Disaster Resilience Month 2026, we uphold the theme: "Naghahanda at Kumikilos Tungo sa Panatag na Bagong Pilipinas."

NAGHAHANDA is foresight in action—recognizing risks early, strengthening protection systems, and designing learning environments where safety is built into every layer of governance and practice.

KUMIKILOS is sustained commitment—where disaster risk reduction, psychosocial support, climate resilience, and inclusion are not responses to crisis, but everyday standards that safeguard every learner.

Anchored in the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and the Comprehensive School Safety Framework, resilience is not only about surviving disruptions, but about preventing harm, protecting dignity, and sustaining learning under all conditions.

From this commitment emerges a clearer direction for our shared future:

Panatag na Paaralan. Panatag na Pilipinas.

Two promising student-athletes from DepEd Tayo Sinalhan IHS - Santa Rosa City represented Santa Rosa City school in the Regional Athletics Association Meet (RAAM) after successfully qualifying through the elimination rounds. Rommel Mendoza of Grade 10 and Micaella Bolor of Grade 7 showcased determination, discipline, and competitive spirit as they competed among the region’s finest athletes.

Although both athletes gave their best efforts during the regional competition, they were unable to secure a podium finish in their respective events. Despite this outcome, their qualification alone marks a significant achievement, reflecting their hard work and dedication throughout their training and the qualifying stages.

Under the guidance of their coach, Jefferson M. Reyes, Mendoza and Bolor gained valuable experience competing at a higher level, which will serve as an important stepping stone for their future athletic development.

Their journey in the RAAM stands as a testament to perseverance and sportsmanship, inspiring fellow athletes to continue striving for excellence and to take pride in every opportunity to compete and represent the school and Schools Division of Santa Rosa City.

We are proud of you, Sinalhanians! 🦾
