United Nations Office at Geneva | Standing up for women globally

Before 2025 (October 2025) ended, I had a wonderful, inspiring experience when I represented the City of Santa Rosa ( and the Philippines ) at the UN Forum of Mayors in Geneva, Switzerland in the following capacities/roles:

- One of the resource speakers at the Woman and Mayor : Empowering Urban Leadership for Sustainable Futures side event with other Women City Mayors from other countries
- Co-moderating in the UN plenary session on Climate Finance Mechanisms, and participating in other sessions on SDGs, etc.
- Most especially, a signatory on the resolution and declaration crafted during the Woman and Mayor session: Women Mayors' Declaration for Safe & Inclusive Governance

Truly, this is worth sharing especially today, March 8.

Please be informed that the deadline of submission of entries for the Sunrise Photography Contest has been extended from February 15 to February 22, 2026 (5:00 PM).

The adjustment in schedule was made due to the limited visibility of the sunrise because of the bad weather. This extension is intended to provide participants with additional time to prepare and submit their entries.

All other contest guidelines, mechanics, and requirements shall remain unchanged. Participants are encouraged to take note of the revised schedule and plan their submissions accordingly.

Below is the adjusted schedule of activities for the guidance of all participants.

In line with its commitment to provide quality and inclusive education, the City Government of Santa Rosa held a meeting on the establishment and development of the City College of Santa Rosa. Mayor Arlene Arcillas, together with City Department Heads and Unit Heads gathered to discuss critical matters including the academic framework, administrative structure, and long-term direction of the proposed city college, ensuring sustainable and accessible tertiary education for Rosenians.
