The Southern Isabela Medical Center Department of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (ORL-HNS) proudly launched the 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐤-𝐄𝐬𝐤𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩 𝐓𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚 (BEST) Medical Mission, led by Dr. Jan Jefferson Quemado, a program dedicated to promoting ear health and hearing care among schoolchildren.

With the support of Dr. Santiago F. Apellido, Barangay Chairman of Divisoria, Santiago City, we successfully held our first activity on June 20, 2025, at Divisoria Elementary School, where more than 600 students received ear examinations and medical care to support their hearing and overall well-being.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our former MCC II, Dr. Melchor Dela Cruz Jr., for allowing the medical mission, and to Dr. Glenn Mathew G. Baggao, Undersecretary of Health and concurrent Medical Center Chief II, for continuing this important initiative.

We remain committed to helping every child learn and thrive through better hearing and health. 👂🏻

The Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery successfully passed its first accreditation visit on March 13, 2025, by the Philippine Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (PBO-HNS).

The accreditation process was led by Dr. Francisco Victoria, Head of the PBO-HNS Accreditation Team, along with Dr. Agnes Remulla, Dr. Alberto Calderon, and Dr. William Lim.

During this significant event, Dr. Peter Anthony P. Wong, Chairman of the SIMC Department of ORL-HNS, and Dr. Jeanette R. Plete, Training Officer of the SIMC Department of ORL-HNS, presented a comprehensive overview of our department and the institution, under the guidance of Medical Center Chief II, Dr. Melchor C. Dela Cruz Jr., MD, MHA, FPOGS.

This accomplishment reflects our continued commitment to providing the highest quality care to all our ENT-HNS patients.
