The Municipality of Santo Domingo successfully conducted the Memorandum of Agreement Signing Ceremony and Symbolic Turnover of Partnership Commitment, marking a strengthened collaboration with its valued partners, led by Municipal Mayor Annea Cassandra L. De Leon, together with Committee Chair on Agriculture, SBM Michael Emili V. Figueras, SBM Giovanni V. Velaso, SBM Bennedict Gerard A. De Vera, UNP Vice President Rolando V. Navarro, and the University of Northern Philippines – College of Teacher Education, particularly the Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED) and Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTED).

This initiative formalizes a shared commitment to promote sustainable development, inclusive growth, and long-term opportunities for the community.

SUSPENSION OF PROPOSED FARE INCREASES IN PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

In line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. suspending the implementation of proposed fare increases for buses, jeepneys, and other modes of public transportation nationwide.

In proud observance of Women’s Month 2026, SBM Cristina Jane D. Martinez together with the Sangguniang Bayan Staff, participated the Kick-Off Motorcade on March 4, 2026, demonstrating unity and steadfast support for women’s empowerment and gender equality in our community.

Inspection Visit for the Construction of the Legislative Building – January 26, 2026

On January 26, 2026, immediately after the flag ceremony, Vice Mayor Felix T. Ingan, Sangguniang Bayan Member Michael Emili V. Figueras, and ABC President Vicente T. Gonzales Jr., together with the Sangguniang Bayan staff, conducted a construction site visit for the ongoing Legislative Building project. The visit was undertaken to monitor the progress of construction, assess compliance with approved plans and specifications, and ensure that the project is being implemented in accordance with established standards.

Sangguniang Bayan En Banc Meeting – January 23, 2026

On January 23, 2026, the Members of the Sangguniang Bayan convened for an En Banc meeting to deliberate on several important agenda items. These included the concurrence of plantilla positions, the proposed traffic scheme of the Municipality of Santo Domingo, Ilocos Sur, and the revision of selected sections of the proposed municipal ordinance. The meeting aimed to ensure thorough discussion and careful consideration of matters vital to effective local governance and public service.

PUBLIC ADVISORY
EXTENSION OF PAYMENT OF LOCAL TAXES, FEES, AND CHARGES

The Municipal Government of Santo Domingo, Ilocos Sur is pleased to share that, pursuant to Executive Order No. 03, Series of 2026, an extension has been granted for the payment of all local taxes, fees, and charges without penalties and surcharges, until January 31, 2026.

This initiative is intended to give our taxpayers additional time and flexibility in settling their obligations, while continuing to promote compliance with local revenue regulations.

All concerned taxpayers are warmly encouraged to avail of this extension and complete their payments within the prescribed period.

On January 15, 2026, the following standing committees of the Sangguniang Bayan convened and conducted their respective committee meetings, to wit:

The Committee on Youth and Sports Development, chaired by SK Federated President Harry Law C. Lazo, which deliberated on the proposed reprogramming of the ten percent (10%) Sangguniang Kabataan Fund of various barangays, sourced from their respective ten percent (10%) SK Fund allocations for Calendar Year 2025;

The Committee on Finance and Appropriations, chaired by SBM Godofredo T. Ingan, with the assistance of the Acting Municipal Budget Officer, which deliberated on the Annual Budgets and Supplemental Budgets of various barangays;

The Committee on Programs and Activities, chaired by SBM Benedict Gerard A. De Vera, which deliberated on proposed Resolution No. 064, Series of 2026, entitled “A Resolution Giving Thanks to Almighty God and Expressing Filial Joy and Congratulations to Most Reverend David William Valencia Antonio, D.D., S.T.H.D., on His Appointment by the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, as the Eighth (8th) Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia”; and

The Committee on Peace and Order, chaired by SBM Mark Denver P. Alvarado, which deliberated on proposed Resolution No. 065, Series of 2026, entitled “A Resolution Requesting the Honorable Anne A. Cassandra L. De Leon, Municipal Mayor of Santo Domingo, Ilocos Sur, to Provide a Suitable Area for the Federated Barangay Tanod Association for the Conduct of Its Regular Meetings.”
