No one really talks about those first few days/weeks of baby initially latching on, and the pain that women can have (which is normal, and there’s nothing you can do about it, except keep nursing). ⁣⁣⁣
⠀⠀⁣⁣
Your ni***es may become sore, and this is also NORMAL. They heal ♥️⁣⁣⁣
⠀⠀⁣⁣
You may also experience breast tenderness as your milk is coming in, with engorgement. This is also NORMAL (just keep nursing). ⁣⁣⁣

Breastfeeding is likely NOT going to be completely pain-free, even in all realms of normalcy. It’s ok, but I just wanted to let you know! Some women are told that it will be completely pain-free unless there is a problem, but that is not really true! ⁣⁣⁣

✅ It’s also important to note that if one has pain beyond two weeks, beyond the first 30-60 seconds of the latch, pain with cracked/bleeding ni***es – than an evaluation by an IBCLC is warranted! ♥️
