In support of disaster preparedness initiatives, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Sto. Employees from various LGU offices actively joined the drill as part of the municipalityโ€™s continuing commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness. To further promote awareness and community involvement, the local government also encouraged participation from different sectors, ensuring a broader understanding of proper safety measures during earthquakes.

He explained that such drills are not only meant to inform people about the proper response during an earthquake, but also to help them develop the habit of responding correctly when an actual earthquake occurs. He also encouraged everyone to always check on the safety of those around them during emergencies, particularly their colleagues or nearby individuals. Furthermore, he stressed that disaster preparedness is a shared responsibility and that all agencies and sectors must actively participate, with no exemptions, in initiatives that promote community safety and readiness.

These preparedness activities play a vital role in raising awareness among residents about potential hazards and strengthening the communityโ€™s collective effort to prepare for disasters. At LDRRMO Sto. Tomas, we believe that awareness and preparedness are the first lines of defense in protecting lives and ensuring the safety of every member of the community.
