Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 114 issued by the Office of the President, The Municipality of Santo Tomas will implement a 4-Day Compressed Work Week, effective March 9, 2026.

Under this arrangement, Municipal Government Offices will operate from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Thursday ensuring that the required 40-hour work week is maintained while helping reduce energy consumption.

Please be advised that frontline service offices, including Municipal Health Office (MHO), Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), and other units such as market/slaughterhouse/port/cemetery, waste management, and traffic management will continue their regular shifting schedules to ensure uninterrupted public service.

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS:
1. The candidate MUST MEET AT LEAST TWO of the following qualifications that shall indicate her association with the municipality:
a. Born in the Province of La Union as supported by the birth certificate (PSA);
b. The Province of La Union is her domicile – registered voter of La Union as supported by voter’s certification (barangay certification will not be honored);
c. Enrolled or working within the province for at least one year as supported by a certificate of enrollment or an employment certificate;
d. Either of her parents or grandparents was born in La Union, as supported by the birth certificate of either of the parents or grandparents or both.

2. The candidate MUST BE 18 to 25 YEARS OLD at the time of the coronation night. She must neither be married, nor have ever been married; have never sought the annulment of marriage or the declaration of nullity thereof, and have never been, nor presently pregnant. She must neither have given birth to a child nor is a parent.

3. Preferably, she must be at least 5’4 IN HEIGHT.

4. She must be a naturally-born Filipino citizen and a child of Filipino parents.

5. She MUST NOT BE A REIGNING TITLE-HOLDER of any beauty pageants in the international, national, regional, or provincial-wide competitions, and other highly urbanized or independent city competitions. (e.g., Miss Virginia To***co, Miss Baguio, Miss Makati, etc.)

6. She must be willing to attend\ join the preparatory activities, such as rehearsals, photo\video shoots, studio pictorials, courtesy calls, and other activities as scheduled by the LGU.

7. The candidate must be in good mental, psychological, and physical health.

8. The candidate must be born with the anatomy of a female and have not consented to and/or undergone any surgical, medical, and/or cosmetic procedure to transform her into a female.

9. There must be only one (1) Make-up artist and one (1) Handler for each candidate.

LOOK: The National Food Authority (NFA) - La Union Branch Office breaks ground on the establishment of a modernized Warehouse at Barangay Damortis, Sto. Tomas, La Union.

Once completed, the warehouse will have a rice mill and dryer, which will strengthen the post-harvest and processing capability of the office.

The project is an initiative of the government which aims to strengthen agricultural and food infrastructure through the establishment of modernized facilities.
