Through this initiative, Sapianโ€™s youth leaders strengthened their leadership skills, deepened their awareness of pressing youth concerns, and reinforced their commitment to becoming agents of positive change in their schools, organizations, and communities.

At the Hangaway kag Lin-ay sang Capiz Gastronomy Showcase, the Municipality of Sapian proudly took the spotlight as Hangaway Emmanuel and Lin-ay Mariel prepared and cooked their dish: ๐‘ณ๐‘จ๐‘บ๐‘พ๐‘จ โ€” โ€œ๐‘ณ๐’๐’๐’ˆ ๐‘ณ๐’Š๐’—๐’†, ๐‘บ๐’Š๐’๐’‚๐’๐’‚๐’š.โ€

Sinalay is Sapianโ€™s very own smoked shrimp delicacy. Freshly harvested from salt waters, the shrimps are carefully placed above a โ€œdapogโ€ (traditional dirty kitchen) where burning wood produces rich, aromatic smoke. This slow smoking process preserves the shrimp and infuses it with a deep, distinct flavor โ€” a time-honored method passed down through generations of Sapianons.

Paired with Laswa, the dish becomes a celebration of both sea and soil, highlighting Sapianโ€™s agricultural abundance through fresh local ingredients:
