Coastal 500 is proving that local leadership can create global impact.

Congratulations to Mayor Lemuel Honor of Silago, Southern Leyte, for receiving the Global Excellence in Public Leadership & Sustainable Coastal Development Award at the In2Future Awards Summit in Dubai, UAE, this September.

The award recognizes Mayor Honor's leadership in advancing sustainable coastal development and environmental stewardship following a rigorous evaluation by an international panel of jurors.

It also builds on his recent participation in the Hamburg Sustainability Conference in Germany, where he represented the leaders of Rare's Coastal 500 Network and shared Silago's experience in strengthening coastal governance and community resilience.

Mayor Honor's achievement reflects the growing influence of Coastal 500 leaders, whose work is demonstrating that practical solutions developed by local governments can contribute to global conversations on sustainable coastal development.
