The Provincial Government of Sorsogon, through the PENRO-LGU Sorsogon, participated in the Mangrove Tree Planting Activity held on September 26, 2026 at the Barangay Cambulaga Coastal Area, Sorsogon City, organized by the Saint Louise de Marillac College of Sorsogon, Inc. – Vincentian Heritage Class, Group 2 graduates.

A total of 150 mangrove seedlings, composed of Bakauan Bato, Malatangal, and Bungalon, were planted along the coastal area. The seedlings were provided by the Provincial Government of Sorsogon through PENRO-LGU Sorsogon as part of its continuing efforts to promote mangrove rehabilitation and coastal resource conservation and also in support of the Kalikasan Program of the Provincial Government of Sorsogon.

Beyond planting trees, the activity highlighted the important role of mangroves in protecting coastal communities, providing habitat for marine and wildlife species, supporting livelihoods, strengthening coastal resilience, and storing blue carbon.

The initiative likewise reflected the Vincentian values of service, compassion, and responsible stewardship of God’s creation, demonstrating how environmental action can become a meaningful form of service to communities.

PENRO-LGU Sorsogon extends its appreciation to the Saint Louise de Marillac College of Sorsogon, Inc., Vincentian Heritage Class – Group 2 graduates, barangay officials, and all participants and volunteers for their valuable contribution to this environmental undertaking.
