During the surveillance, thick vegetation was observed in and around the affected area, which may provide potential breeding and resting sites for mosquitoes.

Residents and nearby households were advised to trim overgrown vegetation, maintain cleanliness of their surroundings, and eliminate possible mosquito breeding sites by removing stagnant water and other potential breeding containers. The residents were also reminded to maintain regular environmental cleaning as part of dengue prevention and control efforts.

7 September 2026

Conducted a follow up inspection of a backyard piggery in Brgy. Pangascasan. During the inspection, an agreement was reached between the piggery owner, the Barangay Council and the Municipal Sanitation Office that the owner will no longer raise pigs at the said location. The agreement was made due to the location of the pigpen which is situated beside a river resulting in pig waste and wastewater being discharged directly into the waterway. Such practices pose a risk to public health and environment and may constitute violations ofthe Code on Sanitation of the Philippines (PD 856) and the Philippines Clean Water Act of 2004 (RA 9275).
