We are urging all business owners, employees, and the general public to remain vigilant against fraudulent individuals operating in our area.

How the Scam Works:
Recently, an unauthorized individual entered a local business establishment claiming he had an ongoing transaction with the owner. To make his story believable, the scammer dropped names and spoke with authority, convincing the staff that the owner had already approved an urgent payment. Caught off guard and believing the person was legitimate, the staff handed over cash to the suspect—only to discover later that the owner had no knowledge of any such agreement.

How to Protect Your Business:

Always Verify First: Never release company funds or hand over cash based solely on a visitor's word, even if they claim to know the owner personally.

Direct Confirmation: Instruct your staff to directly call or message the business owner or manager to verify any payment request before handing over money.

Report Suspicious Activity: If someone attempts a similar scheme, report it immediately to the authorities or local police.
