Under the helm of the Acting Station Commander Ensign Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG, personnel from Coast Guard Substation (CGS) Bucas Grande, along with the Sub-Stations such as CGSS Socorro, CGSS N. Sering, CGSS DoΓ±a Helene, and with the support of the augmented personnel from Headquarters Coast Guard District Northeastern Mindanao (HCGDNEM), and the Coast Guard Special Operations Group Bucas Grande carried out intensified safety and security operations in line with OPLAN BIYAHENG AYOS: SEMANA SANTA AND SUMMER VACATION 2025 from 17 to 20 April 2025.

The Coast Guard teams were deployed at Dagatan Bay Resort and Sohoton Cove two of the top tourist destinations in the area purposely to render passenger assistance, enforce security measures, and ensure the safe transit of all inbound and outbound passengers amid the increase in tourist arrivals during the long holiday break.

With the implementation of full alert status, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) strengthened its presence and visibility to help prevent incidents, manage maritime traffic, and respond immediately to any emergency situations in the said areas.

Travelers and tourists are strongly advised to remain vigilant, wear life vests at all times while on watercraft, and strictly follow safety protocols and instructions from Coast Guard personnel to ensure their own safety and that of others.

The PCG in Bucas Grande remains steadfast in its commitment in protecting lives and maintaining maritime safety as well as the law and order at sea particularly during peak travel seasons.

The Coast Guard Station (CGS) Bucas Grande rendered first aid to an injured male tourist in Dagatan Bay and Resort at Barangay Sudlon, Socorro, Surigao del Norte on 16 April 2025.

The incident transpired when a 51-year old resident of Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur was swimming with his family and opted to use one of the resort’s water slides for enjoyment. After completing the slide and diving into the water another tourist subsequently utilized the same slide resulting to an accidental collision of both individuals.

Based on the report, the knee of the other tourist accidentally hit the victim's head with significant force causing a deep laceration that resulted to a profuse bleeding in the head.

The deployed PCG and Rural Health Unit (RHU) immediately took appropriate actions and facilitated the patient’s transport to Socorro District Hospital for immediate and appropriate medical attention.

With this incident, CGS Bucas Grande in collaboration with other PCG units near the area further intensify its monitoring in the observance of Lenten Season wherein influx of local and foreign tourists visiting the Island is expected in order to ensure the safety and security of the general public.

The Coast Guard teams were deployed at Magpupungko Rock Formation in Pilar, Cloud 9 Surfing Spot in Catangnan, Sugba Lagoon in Del Carmen and Tri Island hopping such as Guyam Island, Daku Island and Naked Island in General Luna and other tourist attractions in the Island purposely to render passenger assistance, enforce security measures, and ensure the safe transit of all inbound and outbound passengers amid the increase in tourist arrivals during the long holiday break.

With the implementation of full alert status, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) strengthened its presence and visibility to help prevent incidents, manage maritime traffic, and respond immediately to any emergency situations in the said areas.

The deployment aims to maintain order, enforce maritime safety protocols, and provide immediate assistance in any emergency situation, reflecting the Philippine Coast Guard’s dedication to protecting lives and preserving peace in recreational areas.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen community trust and uphold the Coast Guard’s mandate of maritime safety, security, and environmental protection, especially during significant public holidays when coastal areas are most active.

Amenah F. Pangandaman held at Gateway Hotel, Surigao City, Surigao del Norte earlier today, 13 March 2025.

The Full Council Meeting brought together key agencies and stakeholders to assess Caraga Region’s progress in addressing and evaluating ongoing programs, and formulate strategies for sustained peace and development.

πˆπ‚π˜πŒπˆ: As the leading maritime agency in the Province of Surigao del Norte particularly in Siargao Island, the Station Commander of Coast Guard Station Siargao Ensign Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG took several collaborations, meetings, courtesy calls and lateral coordination with other counterparts in the Province of Surigao del Norte last 05 March 2025.

The Station Commander attended several meetings particularly the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) 1st Quarter Meeting and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) Meeting which are vital for maintaining a safe, secure and drug-free environment for the residents of the province.

On the other hand, Ensign Orillaneda paid courtesy cal and short dialogue with PCOL WARREN EJEM DABLO the Provincial Director of Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office purposely to foster and strengthen the inter-agency collaboration in enhancing the security and safety operations, maintaining public safety, peace and order, emergency situations, preparations for the upcoming National and Local Elections and other community related concerns in the Province of Surigao del Norte.

Afterwards, several courtesy visits were also conducted to other PCG units such as Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte, Maritime Safety Services Unit - Northeastern Mindanao and Maritime Security and Law Enforcement Group - Northeastern Mindanao wherein various topics and related issues as well as concerns were discussed particularly in the upcoming activities and operations of the organization making one PCG in the Province of Surigao del Norte that will greatly benefit the Surigaonons.

πˆπ‚π˜πŒπˆ: Under the supervision of the Acting Station Commander Ensign Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG, the Coast Guard Station Bucas Grande along with the Sub-Stations actively participated in the Fun Run activity Socorro, Surigao del Norte last 07 March 2025.

The run started at the Municipal Gymnasium with different race categories: 7k in Barangay Nueva Estrella, 5k in Cocobayo, 3k in Barangay Songkoy and 2k in Barangay Navarro.

The activity was part of the celebration for the 6th Tagbo Sport Fest of the Tanariz Fisherman Multi-Purpose Cooperative (TAFIMCO) wherein cooperative members and other individuals joined the said event.

ENS Orillaneda PCG expressed his uwavering gratitude for inviting the PCG and likewise assured to support TAFIMCO's future activities as part of the Station's community engagements and maintaining the good rapport with other stakeholders.

π‹πŽπŽπŠ: The Coast Guard Station Bucas Grande, along with the Sub-Stations such as CGSS Socorro, CGSS Pamosaingan, CGSS N. Sering and CGSS DoΓ±a Helene joined forces in participating the Brgy Visitation dubbed as "Mabungahong Socorro: Pagtimbaya sa Barangay Tuig 2025" held at Barangay Sudlon, Socorro, Surigao del Norte today, 10 March 2025.

The significant event was organized by the LGU of Socorro which primarily aims to deliver and provide easy access to the government services being rendered in the municipality of Socorro wherein every barangay will be visited and benefit in the said initiative.

During the gathering, the Philippine Coast Guard shared a valuable insights emphasizing the PCGs vital role in maritime safety, search and rescue, security and law enforcement as well as marine environmental protection and disaster response.

One key discussion was about the Safety, Security and Environmental Numbering System (SSEN) wherein a registration caravan facilitated by the PCG was also included in the services offered during the Brgy. Visitation.

Through the initiative, the local government continues to strengthen its ties with the national line agencies fostering strong collaboration and proactive governance.

CGWEISC-NEM RC also took part in this activity facilitating thru SSEN registration prowess while other sub-units of CGS Bucas Grande provided visibility ensuring the safety and security of all the beneficiaries.

πˆπ‚π˜πŒπˆ: The Coast Guard Station Siargao headed by the Station Commander Ensign Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG thru the Deputy Commander Ensign Jeffrey D Sonio PCG warmly welcomed and accommodated another Batch of 4th year BS Criminology students of Siargao Island Institute of Technology (SIIT) for the Informational Purpose Visit (IPV) as part of their OJT/Intership Program aboard PCG SAR Base Siargao, Brgy Liberatad, Surigao del Norte last 06 March 2025.

Like the previous batches of students, the 4th batch of 4th Year BS Criminology students also participated in an Informational Purpose Visit which aims to familiarize the students with the roles of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) specifically with its mission, vision, history, mandates and capabilities wherein significant topics were covered in detail to equip and help them understand the importance of PCG in the community and to the nation as a whole.

The Coast Guard Weapons, Communications, Electronics and Information System Command Northeastern Mindanao Regional Center (CGWCEIS-NEM RC) with the RADAR Station Siargao also conducted short briefing to the students with regards to the equipment, main functions and importance of their unit in the PCG organization.

Afterwards, Ensign Sonio PCG accompanied the students for a facility tour within the Station and Search and Rescue (SAR) Base premises which was followed by a short dialogue motivating the students to be determined in order for their dreams to be achieved.
