DTRC Caraga Launches GCash Partnership: "A Step Toward Digital Transformation".

In a significant move toward digitalization and efficiency, the Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center Caraga officially launched its GCash partnership today, October 28, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. The event marked the formal signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between DTRC Caraga and GCash, followed by a training session on GCash Scan-to-Pay for key staff.

The MOA signing was led by Dr. Edhel S. Miro, DPCAM, MM-PA, Chief of Hospital III. Witnessing the event were Ms. Kathleen L. Onde, OIC–Supervising Administrative Officer and Ms. Wilma T. Lapasaran, AOIII/Cashier II. Representing GCash was Mr. Gremarc Doctolero, GCash Public Sector Representative.

The activity was attended by staff from the Administrative Division, Outpatient and Aftercare Division (OAD), and Residential Inpatient Treatment Division (RITD), reflecting the Center’s collective commitment to integrating innovative financial systems into its operations.

Mr. Doctolero lauded DTRC Caraga for its remarkable efficiency, noting that it completed the GCash application and onboarding process in under three months — a feat that usually takes more than six months.

“DTRC Caraga’s application was fast and furious,” Mr. Doctolero remarked, recognizing the team’s dedication to modernization.

Through this partnership, DTRC Caraga becomes the first and only Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center across Caraga, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Northern Mindanao to officially accept GCash payments, marking a milestone in the region’s rehabilitation service network.

This initiative underscores DTRC Caraga’s commitment to its vision of becoming the premier drug abuse treatment and rehabilitation center in Mindanao by 2027. The integration of digital payment systems such as GCash is expected to streamline transactions, promote transparency, and enhance service delivery for clients and stakeholders alike.

The GCash launching at DTRC Caraga stands as a milestone in the Center’s ongoing transformation journey, blending innovation with public service excellence to better serve the public.
