Tacloban PS3 Cops Arrest Two Individuals with Warrants for Robbery
Tacloban City – On August 10, 2024, the Tacloban Police Station 3 Tracker Team, under the leadership of PCPT Jefferson P. Arellano, Officer-in-Charge (OIC), successfully conducted manhunt operation in Brgy. 101 New Kawayan, Tacloban City. This operation led to the arrest of the two accused identified as alias "Rem" and alias "Ramos."
The arrests were made by the virtue of Warrants of Arrest issued under Criminal Case numbers R-TAC-24-00816-CR and R-TAC-24-00817-CR by Hon. Lo**ta Ripalda Mercado, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 46, 8th Judicial Region, Tacloban City.
The apprehended individuals were promptly transported to Tacloban Police Station 3 for documentation and further legal procedures.
PCPT Jefferson P. Arellano commended the operation, stating, "This successful mission highlights our steadfast dedication to justice and public safety.

PS3 IS ONE WITH THE PNP IN ASSERTING ITS LAW ENFORCEMENT DUTIES
The arrest of Dra. Natividad Castro was a legitimate operation done by the Philippine National Police. The case of Dra. Castro went through proper legal proceeding under the Regional Trial Court, Branch 7 of Agusan Del Sur.
Our policemen simply implemented the warrant of arrest issued by the court for kidnapping and serious illegal detention against the accused.
Any question or objection regarding the filed case against Dra. Castro must be addressed to the courts. The report of Dra. Castro being a high ranking CPP Official is not a careless accusation. It is based on verified information from accounts of former CPP members who already surrendered to the PNP.

PS3 STANDS UNITED WITH THE PNP AND THE COMELEC
IN THE LAWFUL CONDUCT OF “OPERATION BAKLAS” AMID INAPPROPRIATE POSTING OF ELECTION MATERIALS NATIONWIDE
The recently publicized dismantling of campaign materials on erring political candidates allegedly with the participation and in the presence of PNP personnel are authorized and sanctioned in accordance to COMELEC rules and procedures and has been dubbed “Operation Baklas”. It is not the intent of the PNP to become a partisan organization but rather to be a fair implementer of the law on all erring political candidates no matter the status or position in government service.
The Philippine National Police will continue to do its part to safeguard the upcoming National and Local Elections and will remain (as have always been) impartial and neutral in its performance of duties and will take appropriate action on members who will do otherwise either intentionally or unintentionally.
The Philippine National Police also invites the public to support the organization in securing a safe and fair election by reporting any election-related infractions through proper channels.
