The PSA Economic Accounts Team conducted technical visits to agricultural establishments and household farms in Tolosa and Tanauan, Leyte on 24 April 2026. The activity aims to gather information on the operations of household farms and
agricultural establishments that may not be fully captured by existing PSA censuses and surveys.

PSA – RSSO 8 joined the Hybrid MOA Signing Ceremony for the 7th International and 10th National Conference on Poverty Alleviation and Sustainable Development (iPOVCON 2026) held on 26 May 2026 at Leyte Normal University, Tacloban City.

Chief Statistical Specialist Mae R. Almonte represented PSA-RSSO 8 in the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement with Samar State University and partner institutions to strengthen poverty reduction initiatives in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 1 (UN SDG 1) - ending poverty in all its forms everywhere.

With the theme, “Transforming Marginalized Communities through Global and Local Partnerships for Sustainable Poverty Solutions,” the event highlights the importance of partnerships among academic institutions, government agencies, and development partners in promoting data-driven governance, inclusive growth, and social transformation.

PSA - RSSO 8 reaffirms its commitment in bringing statistics closer to the people through programs and partnerships that support evidence-based governance and poverty alleviation in Eastern Visayas.

The iPOVCON 2026, set to take place in October 2026.

PSA - RSSO 8 Joins Stakeholders’ Engagement on MR-SIA and Routine Immunization

PSA - RSSO 8 participated in the Stakeholders' Engagement on Measles - Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-SIA) and Routine Immunization conducted by the Department of Health - Eastern Visayas Center for Health and Development on 26 May 2026 in Tacloban City.

Chief Statistical Specialist Mae R. Almonte and Statistical Specialist II Nikki Joy Belas - Javines represented the office and addressed clarifications on population projections and vaccination-related indicators from the National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS).

PSA - RSSO 8 also reaffirmed its commitment to support the program through the provision of data requirements and capacity building on data management and analysis. The initiative forms part of the agency’s continuing partnership and collaboration with stakeholders in promoting data-driven planning and evidence-based decision-making.

Ito ay bahagi ng pagpapatupad ng gobyerno na maihatid and mabilis na serbisyo at tamang impormasyon para sa mga kababayan natin sa malalayong komunidad.

𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐍𝐀𝐍 | Mga kababayan naman natin sa Brgy. Capiz, Alangalang, Leyte ang muling pinuntahan ng PSA RSSO 8 at PSA Leyte ngayong araw 28 Mayo 2026 para mailapit sa kanila ang mas mabilis na serbisyo publiko kung saan agarang makakakuha sila ng kopya ng kanilang mga Civil Registry documents.

Hindi na nila kailangan pang mag byahe ng malayo o mag pumila ng matagal dahil nandito na sa kanilang barangay ang PSA team.

Hangad ng ating gobyerno na maipatupad ang direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na madala sa malalayong komunidad ang mga frontline services tulad ng pagpaparehistro sa National ID.

TINGNAN Inilapit ng PSA RSSO 8 at PSA Leyte sa mga residente ng Brgy. Sta Cruz, San Miguel leyte ang mabilis at abot-kamay na serbisyo upang maka pagparehistro at makakuha sila ng National ID at Civil Registry documents. Patuloy na isinusulong ng PSA na mapagsilbihn ang ating mga kababayan at ito ay lubos na ikinagagalak ni Gemma D. Ponferrada, Brgy. Kagawad at Chairman ng Committee on Social Services. Ito ay isang pagkakataon upang mapagsilbihan ang kanilang barangay lalo na ang mga senior citizens at kabataan.

TINGNAN Iwas Pila at di na kailangang gumastos sa pamasahe dahil dinala ng PSA RSSO 8 at PSA Leyte sa Brgy. Sta Cruz, San Miguel, Leyte ang mabilis at agarang serbisyo para sa National ID at Civil Registration.

Tunay na nagpapasalamat si -Kyle P. Peña dahil nakakuha na siya ng kopya ng birth ceritificate ng kanyang anak at printed NID paper format sa isinagawang “Barangayan-PSA Caravan” sa kanilang lugar.

Patuloy na magsasagawa ang PSA ng mga ganitong programa para abot-kamay na ng mga Pilipino ang lubos na malasakit para sila mapagsilbihan.
