The Barangay GAD Focal Persons had their 2nd semestral meeting last October 6 - 7 held at City Population Office. The said meeting aims to inform and discuss issues and concerns with regards to the GAD Program implementation in the Barangay.

The meeting mainly highlighted the discussion on the submission of their 2027 Barangay GAD Plan, completion of Barangay Accomplishment Report and the discussion on the Registry Barangay Inhabitants and Migrant System (RBIMS) resolution.

We responded to the request of Barangay 62 to discuss Anti - Violence Against Women and Their Children (R.A. 9262) held last October 10, 2026 at Brgy. 62. Sagkahan, Tacloban City.

The activity was facilitated by the staff of City Population Office, Ms. Hedeliza P. Ramos, PPO III.

Thanks to the Barangay 62 Council, headed by Hon. Alrex B. Docil, for the continued support on the GAD Program of the city. Thank you also to their council and volunteer who assisted during the activity.

We responded to the request of Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor to discuss Anti - s*xual Harassment and R.A. 11313 (Safe Spaces Act) Forum last September 30, 2026 at Guadalupe Heights, Brgy. 105 San Isidro Suhi, Tacloban City which was attended by the members of the Home Owners Association and responded by Ms. Hedeliza P. Ramos together with the CPO-GAD Technical Team Ms. Mai Dalore and Ms. Ginaline Adona.

The said activity aims to enhance the understanding and awareness of a safe and secure environment for all individuals, particularly in workplaces and educational institutions; to protect all individuals, regardless of s*x, s*xual orientation, and gender identity and expression, from all forms of gender-based s*xual harassment (GBSH) committed in public spaces, educational or training institutions, workplaces, and online spaces.
Thank you and kudos to all the staff of Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor for the successful activity.

We responded to the request of Brgy. 107 to conduct Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning (RP/FP) Seminar held last September 27, 2026 at Brgy, 107, Sta Elena.

RPFP Seminar aims to guide couples and parents in exercising responsible parenting. It also seeks to provide them with adequate information on various family planning programs and services under the principle of informed choice and volunteerism, in order to achieve the desired number, timing, and birth spacing of their children, thereby contributing to the improvement of maternal, neonatal, and child health, and nutrition.

This activity was facilitated by our GAD Advocates Ms. Christina Jackson and Ms. Evelyn Kahano.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the Barangay Council of Brgy. 107, headed by Hon. Rosa Q. Estrella. for their continued support to the RPFP Advocacy of the city. Thank you as well to their BSPOs for the assistance provided during the conduct of the said activity.

KATROPA Training aims to empower men and guide them in becoming effective partners to their wives, responsible fathers to their children, and positive contributors to society as a whole.

This activity was facilitated by the staff of City Population Office, Mr. Gil E. Pantas, PPO III and our program advocate Mr. Rodolfo Martinez Jr.

The City Government of Tacloban through its Gender and Development Program has recently conducted a continuation meeting and workshop on GAD Agenda Formulation held last September 22, 2026 at CEO Function Hall. The said activity was participated by the members of the City GAD Agenda Planning Team.

This initiative is one of the strategies of the city to strengthen the GAD Program implementation in the city by ensuring that gender equality and inclusivity and women empowerment is considered in the plans, programs and activities of the city. Thank you to all the participants who were present for their active participation and commitment to Gender and Development.

We responded to the request of Barangay 84 to conduct Harmonized Gender and Development Guideline (HGDG) Seminar held last September 19, 2026 at Barangay 84, Manlurip, Brgy. Hall.

HGDG aims to capacitate member of the Barangay GAD Focal Point System on how identify gender specific needs, priorities and responsibilities and how it affects womenโ€™s and men access and control it resources, their participation and influence in decision-making.

This activity was facilitated by the staff of City Population Office Ms. Jemima Kezzia T. Dalore, PPW II and Ms. Ginaline O. Adona.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the Barangay Council of Brgy. 84, headed by Hon. Jennifer C. Regis for their continued support to the GAD Program implementation of the city. Thank you as well to the BSPO for the assistance provided during the conduct of the said activity.
