🌍 World Kidney Day – March 12, 2026
Today we join the global community in celebrating World Kidney Day, a reminder that healthy kidneys are essential to a healthy life. Our kidneys quietly work every day to filter toxins, balance fluids and electrolytes, regulate blood pressure, produce erythropoietin for maintaining red blood cells in normal levels and keep our bodies in balance.
Unfortunately, kidney disease often develops silently, and many people only discover it when it is already advanced. That is why awareness, prevention, and early detection are so important.
💡 Protect your kidneys by:
• Keeping a healthy blood pressure and blood sugar
• Staying well hydrated
• Maintaining a healthy weight through regular exercise
• Eating a balanced, low-salt diet
• Avoiding unnecessary pain medications and harmful substances
• Getting regular kidney check-ups if you have risk factors
🧪 Simple tests can save your kidneys:
• Serum creatinine or cystatin C
• Urinalysis with urine albumin–creatinine ratio
• Serum electrolytes
• Ultrasound of the kidneys and urinary bladder
Let us work together to educate the community, protect kidney health, and care for our planet, because healthy environments support healthy kidneys.
This World Kidney Day, let us remind our families, friends, and communities:
“Early detection protects kidney function.”
Take care of your kidneys. They take care of you for life.

Celebrating World Kidney Day: Nourishing Our Dialysis Community
In celebration of World Kidney Day, our dialysis team took a meaningful step toward supporting the health and well-being of our patients and their families by sharing nutrition education through pamphlets and kidney-specific milk supplements.
Dialysis patients have unique nutritional needs, and proper guidance can make a significant difference in maintaining strength, preventing complications, and improving overall quality of life. During this activity, we provided a simple nutrition guide tailored for dialysis patients, emphasizing the importance of balanced protein intake, controlling sodium, potassium, and phosphorus, and maintaining adequate calorie intake.
As part of our advocacy for better kidney care, we also distributed kidney-specific milk supplements for free, which are specially formulated to provide appropriate nutrition for patients undergoing dialysis while helping manage electrolyte and mineral balance.
This initiative reflects our continuing commitment to empower patients and families with knowledge, proper nutrition, and compassionate care. By working together, we can help our dialysis community live healthier and stronger lives.
Let us continue to raise awareness about kidney health, early detection, and proper nutrition, because protecting our kidneys today protects our future.
We thank our sponsors from Abbott Nutrition and Fresenius Kabi for being our partners on this annual activity.
Patients and families consented for their photos to be shared for purposes of documentary presentations of the center’s activities.
