01 May 2026 โ In line with the nationwide celebration of the 124th Labor Day, TESDA Region VIII joined forces with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for a massive Job Fair held at the Tacloban City Convention Center.
Under the theme, โDisenteng Trabaho para sa Lahat: Iisang Hangarin, Bagong Pilipinas Sama-samang Mararating,โTESDA showcased its commitment to enhancing Filipino skills and facilitating employment.
The TESDA delegationโcomprised of the Regional Training Center-Tacloban, Provincial Training Center-Leyte, and representatives from the Regional and Leyte Provincial Officesโprovided a "one-stop-shop" booth for attendees.
Key services offered included:
โ๏ธFacilitation of applications for various TESDA scholarship programs and training opportunities.
โ๏ธInformation on competency assessment services to validate professional skills.
โ๏ธFree haircuts, massages, manicures, and pedicures.
โ๏ธFree oil changes for motorcycles and small engines.
To inspire job seekers, TESDA trainers and students conducted live demonstrations in high-demand technical fields, including:

A major highlight of the event was the ceremonial awarding for the Lifelong Employability and Advancement Program (LEAP). The segment began with a two-minute audio-visual presentation (AVP) explaining how LEAP connects skilled individuals with industry partners.
Following the presentation, TESDA Region VIII awarded Certificates of Commitment to five (5) selected beneficiaries. These "near-hire" individuals represent the region's top candidates ready for immediate integration into the workforce, demonstrating TESDAโs success in fostering strong industry partnerships.

01 May 2026 - TESDA Region VIII joined the nationwide observance of the 124th Labor Day Celebration by participating in the Job Fair held at the Ormoc City Superdome. Aligned with the theme, "Disenteng Trabaho para sa Lahat: Iisang Hangarin, Bagong Pilipinas Sama-samang Mararating," hosted by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
The TESDA delegation was led by the Calubian National Vocational School (CNVS), with the active support of representatives from the Regional Office and the Leyte Provincial Office who joined to assist the team. Together, they set up a dedicated service booth to facilitate applications for various TESDA scholarship programs and training opportunities, as well as competency assessment services to help clients validate and enhance their professional skills. Adding a touch of hospitality to the productive atmosphere, the team also distributed free crinkles to all participants, ensuring a sweet and welcoming experience for those seeking new career horizons.

30 April 2026 - The TESDA Samar Provincial Office, in partnership with Bright Spark International Training and Assessment Center Inc (BSITACI) and the Local Government Unit of Daram, Samar, successfully conducted Part 2 of the commencement exercises and distribution of starter toolkits at Daram Island, Samar.
The activity recognized the graduates from three batches of Bread and Pastry Production (BPP) NC II and one batch of Carpentry NC II, equipping them with both competencies and starter toolkits to support their employment and livelihood opportunities.
Representing Mayor Lucia L. Astorga were Mr. Nathan Abinguna, Municipal Tourism Operations Officer; SB Ex-Officio Member Mark Angelo Jay Cabanganan, Training Coordinator; and Mr. Oscar Lim Jr., CTEC Designate.
The President of BSITACI, Ms. Annafel R. Ranin, was represented by Mr. Nelcart Nicart, School Operations Manager, and Mr. Jonathan G. Madjos, School Registrar.
This milestone highlights the continued commitment of TESDA Samar and its partners to bring accessible and community-based Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs to geographically isolated areas, fostering inclusive growth and skills development in Samar Province.

28 April2026 โ In a move to solidify technical-vocational education in the province, the TESDA Samar Provincial Office established official contact with Vice Governor Arnold V. Tan at the Provincial Capitol.
The engagement served as a strategic foundation for future legislation and program support, highlighted by an invitation for TESDA to address the Sangguniang Panlalawigan this coming May. This upcoming session aims to align provincial policy with workforce development needs, ensuring deeper collaboration between the agency and Samarโs local legislators.
The meeting strengthened institutional linkage and opened opportunities for deeper collaboration in advancing TVET programs and policy support at the provincial level.

23 April 2026 โ The TESDA Balangiga National Agricultural School successfully conducted its 1st Quarter Advisory Council Meeting to establish collaborative plans, strengthen partnerships, and align institutional programs with industry and community needs.
Key agenda items discussed included the presentation of the TAC Work Plan for CY 2026, the proposed construction of a piggery house, and a research proposal on a proto-type recommender system for EIM NC II graduates. The meeting also served as a platform for stakeholders to share insights, provide recommendations, and support the continuous improvement of training programs and services.

27 April 2026 โ The TESDA Balangiga National Agricultural School successfully conducted the Training Induction Program (TIP) for the Second Semester, welcoming first-year, Section B students of the Diploma in Agricultural Technology program.
The activity formally commenced with the presence of Vocational School Administrator Maria Nenalyn D. Abanador, Designated Scholarship Focal Person Mavita A. Montes, Vocational Instruction Supervisor Raul A. Afable, and Guidance Officer Fe P. Afable, demonstrating strong institutional support for the program.
The program aimed to orient students on academic guidelines, training expectations, scholarship benefits and scholar responsibilities, as well as school policies, rules, and regulations, including key activities for the new semester. It also served as a platform for faculty members to provide essential reminders and motivate students to stay focused, disciplined, and committed to their studies and training.
Through this initiative, TESDA-BNAS continues to strengthen its commitment to delivering quality technical education and equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary for their future careers.

30 April 2026 โ The TESDA Regional Training Center-Tacloban partnered with Police Regional Office 8 (PRO8) for their virtual 16-Day Revitalized-Pulis Sa Barangay (R-PSB) Training.
The session was attended by RTC Administrator Primo V. Regis Jr. and Registrar Eleanor Gillamac, who discussed the various TESDA programs and services that officers can facilitate within their respective barangays. By equipping PRO8 personnel with the necessary information, we ensure that government services are felt where they matter most.

23-24 April 2026 โ The TESDA - Balangiga National Agricultural School (BNAS) successfully underwent a comprehensive Compliance Audit for its Assessment Center covering the following qualifications: Agroentrepreneurship NC II, Animal Production (Poultry-Chicken) NC II, Bartending NC II, Bread and Pastry Production NC II, Driving NC II, Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II, Electronic Products Assembly and Servicing NC II, Food and Beverage Services NC II, Masonry NC II, Organic Agriculture Production NC II, Photovoltaic Systems Installation NC II, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC II, and Tile Setting NC II. Simultaneously, the institution also underwent Program Registration for Agroentrepreneurship NC II, Trainers Methodology Level I, and Bookkeeping NC III.
The audit, conducted by Team 9, aimed to evaluate the institutionโs compliance with established standards for both Assessment Center operations and Program Registration. The process involved a thorough review of documents, inspection of facilities, and interviews with designated personnel, faculty, and staff to ensure a comprehensive and objective assessment. The team was led by Engr. Luistro F. Omrog, together with Kim Anne Bolosiรฑo, Rufina R. Berbon, Jhenevive Calimlim, Ma. Cresilda D. Esquillo, and Electro G. Dilao.
This Compliance Audit and Program Registration represent a significant milestone for TESDA-BNAS, affirming its commitment to excellence in delivering quality technical-vocational education and training (TVET). More than a recognition, it serves as a driving force for the institution to continuously enhance its programs, strengthen its services, and uphold the highest standards in skills development and assessment.
