Over the years, the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) has continuously worked to expand and improve irrigation systems across the country, bringing reliable irrigation water supply closer to farming communities.

These investments in irrigation infrastructure have strengthened the agriculture sector's capacity to cope with climate challenges, including prolonged dry spells associated with El Niño. By enhancing water delivery and supporting efficient water management, irrigation systems help farmers sustain crop production and improve agricultural productivity.

As we look back on these milestones, we recognize the importance of continued irrigation development in building a more resilient and food-secure future for Filipino communities.

Dalakit, Catarman, Northern Samar.

The Rawis Solar Pump Irrigation Project is now officially turned over to the Junction Farmers Irrigators Association, Inc. 👩‍🌾👨‍🌾🌾 Covering 24.35 hectares and benefiting 18 farmers, this sustainable water source will increase crop yields and stronger incomes, all while utilizing clean solar energy. ✨

Introduced by the Consultant during ISIP II, the Duckbill is a type of gravity-fed or run-of-the-river diversion structure. It is a weir type with a purpose to achieve a proportional distribution of water to the headgate, ensuring efficient flow management.

Bawat magsasakang naalalayan, bawat ektaryang napapatubigan, at bawat proyektong naihahatid ay patunay ng ating malasakit sa bayan. Sa diwa ng kanyang mensahe, hinihikayat ang bawat kawani na manatiling masipag, masigasig, at bukas-palad sa serbisyo. Ang bawat araw sa NIA ay pagkakataong gumawa ng pagbabago at mag-iwan ng mabuting bakas para sa magandang bukas.
