𝐆𝐨𝐯’𝐭 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐝, 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐮𝐩 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠

Speaking at the 2026 National Teachers’ Day celebration at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Monday, President Marcos said he directed concerned agencies to ensure the proper and expedited processing of the 2024 PBB.

“Patuloy ang pagproseso nito (2024 PBB), at inatasan natin ang mga kinauukulang ahensya na tiyaking maayos at mapabilis ang proseso,” President Marcos said.

The President also highlighted measures to give teachers more time to focus on teaching by streamlining paperwork, strengthening the non-teaching workforce, and reducing classroom observations.

Classroom observations were reduced from four per school year to one in School Year 2025-2026, with two observations set for succeeding school years.

In his message, President Marcos said teachers are at the heart of every classroom, guiding young Filipinos as they learn, discover their potential, and pursue their dreams.

“Every classroom carries within it the promise of our country’s future. It is where young minds learn to question, discover, and dream of what they may one day achieve,” President Marcos said.

“At the heart of this noble mission are our educators, whose task is to unleash our people’s potential and guide them towards greater possibilities in life,” the President added.

President Marcos said teachers’ influence goes beyond the lessons they impart, noting that by helping children realize their potential, educators also help shape the kind of society the country can build.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Monday vowed to further improve the benefits, career opportunities, and working conditions of Filipino teachers as the administration continues reforms aimed at supporting educators and improving the quality of education.

Speaking during the 2026 National Teachers’ Day celebration, “Teacher, Ikaw Naman,” at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, President Marcos said education remains a priority of the administration, with the sector receiving its biggest budget in the country’s history this year.

“At hindi tayo titigil doon. Patuloy nating hahanapan ng paraan kung paano pa mapabubuti ang suporta, benepisyo, at mga oportunidad para sa ating mga g**o,” the President said.

As part of efforts to provide teachers with greater opportunities for professional advancement, President Marcos reported that 82,105 teachers and school heads had been promoted under the Expanded Career Progression System as of September.

𝟑𝟎𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐟𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐤, 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐏𝟑𝐁 𝐟𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐔𝐏𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐓

Some 300,000 farmers, fisherfolk and drivers hauling agricultural produce will get P3 billion in fuel subsidy starting this month as part of a package of assistance directed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to help the agriculture sector cope with the effects of El Niño and the lingering high prices of fuel.

Agriculture Undersecretary Arrey Perez said the fuel subsidy will be distributed by the Department of Agriculture as part of the Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food and Transport framework initiated by the administration in March to address the impact of the sharp rise in oil prices on account of the Middle East war.

Perez said the DA is working with the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) for ways to further speed up the release and distribution of the fuel subsidy through the bank’s network of branches and automated teller machines.

Sa kanyang talumpati sa Santiago City, Isabela, matapos ang mass oath-taking ng 4,125 bagong na-promote at bagong na-hire na personnel ng Department of Education (DepEd) Region II bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng National Teachers’ Month, sinabi ng Pangulo na pinalalawak ng pamahalaan ang oportunidad para sa career advancement sa pamamagitan ng Expanded Career Progression (ECP) System.

“Kaya nangako ako sa ating mga g**o: hindi na tayo papayag na mayroong g**o na magre-retire bilang Teacher I,” ani Pangulong Marcos.

Pinasalamatan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang mga magulang sa kanilang mahalagang papel sa pagpapabuti ng sistema ng edukasyon sa bansa.

Sa pagbisita niya sa Patul Elementary School sa Santiago City, Isabela, sinabi ng Pangulo na kailangan ang pagtutulungan ng mga magulang, g**o at pamahalaan para matiyak ang magandang pag-aaral at kaligtasan ng mga bata.

“Ating mga magulang, kayo ay napakahalaga para pagandahin ang education system natin dito sa Pilipinas. Alam naman natin ang dinadaanan ng bawat magulang, mga sakripisyo, ‘yung mga ginagawa, pagtulong para sa mga anak ninyo para maging maganda ang kanilang pag-aaral,” ani Pangulong Marcos.

Binanggit din ng Pangulo ang mga programa ng pamahalaan para sa kalusugan at kapakanan ng mga mag-aaral, kabilang ang School-Based Feeding Program at ang Home-Grown School Feeding modality.
