DILG Bohol proudly congratulates the Province of Bohol, the City of Tagbilaran, and all 47 municipalities for successfully passing the CY 2025 Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) Assessment.
This remarkable achievement reflects the unwavering commitment of Bohol's local government units to transparency, accountability, and sound fiscal management. Through consistent compliance with the Full Disclosure Policy (FDP) requirements, particularly the timely and complete posting of required financial documents, as well as adherence to the Commission on Audit (COA) requirement of an unmodified or qualified opinion on the most recent audit report, these LGUs have demonstrated their dedication to good governance and the responsible stewardship of public resources.
Achieving a 100% passing rate in the GFH assessment is a testament to the collective efforts of local chief executives, sanggunian members, local finance committees, and all public servants who work tirelessly to uphold the highest standards of financial accountability and transparency.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region VII, in partnership with DILG Bohol and Cebu Technological University (CTU), successfully conducted the Provincial Presentation of Survey Results on the Local Government Code Review and Amendment Program (LGC RevAmp) on June 10, 2026, at Bohol Tropics Resort, Tagbilaran City.
The activity was graced by Regional Director Leocadio T. Trovela, CESO III, together with DILG Region VII officials and personnel, underscoring the Departmentโs strong support for the ongoing review and amendment of the Local Government Code of 1991. Also present were Provincial Director Johnjoan A. Mende, representatives from various national government agencies, and local government officials from across the province.
During the program, the CTU Research Team, led by Dr. Adrian P. Ybaรฑez, DVM, PhD, presented the results of the study entitled โChallenges in Implementing the Philippine Local Government Code of 1991: Implications for Policy Review and Legislative Reform.โ The presentation featured the survey methodology, key findings, provincial-level insights, emerging issues and policy gaps, and priority recommendations drawn from the proposed amendments and survey responses submitted by local government units in Bohol.
An open forum followed, providing participants the opportunity to exchange insights and recommendations on strengthening the implementation of the Local Government Code. The activity concluded with a commitment-signing ceremony, reaffirming the collective commitment of stakeholders to support evidence-based policy reforms and responsive local governance.
The initiative reflects the continuing partnership between DILG and CTU in promoting research-driven policymaking and legislative reforms aimed at enhancing local autonomy, improving governance systems, and addressing emerging challenges faced by local government units.

Under the Governance for Climate and Disaster Resilience (Gov-CDR) Project of the Province of Bohol, the Presentation and Validation of the Assessment Results and Proposed Adaptation Options for the Loboc Watershed Tourism System was successfully conducted on May 25โ26, 2026, at the Children's Palace in the Municipality of Loboc, Bohol. DILG Bohol, represented by LGOO II Meah Hecell Nisnisan-Genovia, actively participated in this vital initiative to safeguard the tourism sector from the growing adverse impacts of climate change and disasters, recognizing its significant role as one of Boholโs economic lifelines.
The activity served as a platform for presenting key findings of the Climate Change and Disaster Risk Assessment (CDRA) and validating proposed adaptation measures aimed at enhancing the resilience and sustainability of the Loboc Watershed community. Similar initiative was conducted for the Balicasag Island in Panglao, Bohol held on March 18-19, 2026.
Through collaborative discussions among stakeholders, government agencies, and development partners, the activity underscored the importance of evidence-based planning and collective action in addressing the challenges posed by climate change and disaster risks.
LGOO II Genovia also attended in the progress meetings, project updates, and planning discussions for the forthcoming activities of the Gov-CDR Project. Through its continued engagement in such initiatives, DILG Bohol remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting resilient, adaptive, and sustainable communities.

The Bohol Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) convened in a Full Council Meeting held on May 28, 2026, at the Ceremonial Hall, Provincial Capitol, Tagbilaran City, Bohol. It was presided by Provincial Administrator Asteria C. Caberte. Representing DILG Bohol Provincial Director Johnjoan A. Mende, Cluster Head Regina Gina G. Bastes, Officer-in-Charge, joined fellow council members and stakeholders in discussing key DRRM concerns affecting the province.
During the meeting, LGOO II Meah Hecell Nisnisan-Genovia, DILG Bohol DRRM Focal Person, presented significant DILG updates and issuances, particularly the DILG Advisory on the Mitigation and Preparedness Measures in Anticipation of the El Niรฑo Phenomenon, emphasizing the importance of early preparedness and coordinated actions to minimize its potential impacts on communities.
A major milestone of the meeting was the approval of the Enhanced Bohol Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan (LDRRMP) for 2026โ2031, a comprehensive roadmap that will guide the province's disaster resilience initiatives for the next six years. DILG Bohol significantly contributed to the formulation and review of the plan through active participation in a series of technical discussions and planning workshops, ensuring that the framework remains responsive, inclusive, and aligned with national DRRM policies.
The Bohol PDRRMC continues to build a safer, more prepared, and disaster-resilient Bohol through strengthened partnerships, informed decision-making, and shared commitment to protecting lives, livelihoods, and communities.

The Provincial Government of Bohol led the 81st Commemoration of the Liberation of Bohol on May 25, 2025, at Plaza Rizal Park.
Anchored on the theme, โPaggunita sa Nakaraan, Pagpapahalaga sa Kasaysayan, Pagtaguyod sa Kinabukasanโ, the activity honored the bravery and sacrifices of Boholanos who fought for the islandโs liberation during World War II.
The program opened with a wreath-laying ceremony attended by representatives from national government agencies, local government units, veteransโ groups, and other stakeholders. Representatives from DILG Bohol, led by Cluster Head Regina Gina Bastes, joined fellow participants in paying tribute to the fallen heroes. A 21-gun salute and water salute followed, symbolizing honor and gratitude for the veteransโ courage and sacrifice.
The ceremony also featured an inspirational message from Brig. Gen. Joseph G. Sevilla, who emphasized the importance of preserving the legacy of heroism while promoting unity and hope for future generations.
In joining the commemoration, DILG Bohol reaffirmed its commitment to fostering unity, promoting good governance, and upholding the values of freedom and democracy in service to the people of Bohol.
