SIKATUNA, Bohol — March 25, 2026 — The Bohol Provincial Tourism Office (BPTO) conducted an on-site assessment of tourism establishments in the Municipality of Sikatuna as part of its ongoing initiative to maintain and enhance the quality of visitor experiences across the province.

The activity covered selected tourist sites and accommodation facilities, focusing on operational readiness, service delivery, and adherence to established tourism standards. The evaluation aims to support local stakeholders in sustaining a reliable and visitor-friendly environment while aligning with the province’s broader tourism development goals.

During the visit, the BPTO team was received by Municipal Mayor Justiniana L. Ellorimo, reaffirming the local government’s support for strengthening tourism efforts in Sikatuna. The team also worked closely with Municipal Tourism Officer Designate Rofelieta L. Odal, along with her staff, Rhea Regine Manlangit - Ellorimo, whose coordination contributed to the smooth conduct of the activity.

This initiative highlights the continued collaboration between the provincial government and local municipalities in promoting responsible, well-managed, and sustainable tourism across Bohol.

DUERO, Bohol — March 19, 2026 — The Bohol Provincial Tourism Office (BPTO) conducted a tourism site and accommodation validation in the Municipality of Duero, focusing on the inspection of potential tourist attractions and accommodations as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen tourism development across the province.

The activity involved a comprehensive assessment of site readiness, facilities, visitor services, and overall compliance with established tourism standards to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, and sustainable tourism experiences.

A courtesy call was also made to Mayor Al Cadorniga Taculad, represented by Municipal Administrator Designate Juancho T. Dalen, to discuss ongoing tourism initiatives and the municipality’s support for further enhancing its tourism sector. The BPTO likewise extends its appreciation to Municipal Tourism Officer Mae Angelee B. Gales and her staff, Martha Mark Turno Ociones, for their valuable coordination and assistance throughout the activity.

DANAO, Bohol — March 11, 2026 — The Bohol Provincial Tourism Office (BPTO) conducted a validation and inspection activity in the Municipality of Danao covering two tourist attractions and five accommodations as part of its continuing efforts to ensure quality tourism services and uphold provincial standards.

The team assessed the condition of facilities, visitor services, and overall compliance with tourism guidelines to support a safe and satisfying experience for travelers visiting the municipality. Representatives from various BPTO divisions participated in the activity to evaluate tourism products and accommodation services.

A courtesy call was also made to Municipal Administrator Julius G. Lerion, acting on behalf of Mayor Maria Celeste Cepedoza-Lerion, and Hon. Councilor Kairus Orapa Suter to discuss ongoing tourism initiatives and local support for the development of the municipality’s tourism sector. LILA, Bohol — February 27, 2026 — The Bohol Provincial Tourism Office (BPTO) carried out a thorough validation and inspection of 10 accommodations in Lila to ensure compliance with tourism standards and enhance visitor experience. The inspection team included representatives from the Standards and Policy, Product Development, Tourism Services, and Marketing Promotions divisions.

During the visit, the team evaluated facilities, services, and adherence to established tourism guidelines. A courtesy call was also made to Atty. Arturo A. Piollo, II, Municipal Mayor of Lila, to discuss initiatives supporting sustainable tourism in the municipality. The BPTO expressed its gratitude to the Local Government Unit of Lila and to Ms. Lady Leand Mae Taller, Municipal Tourism Officer, for their assistance and coordination during the inspection.

TAGBILARAN CITY, BOHOL — The Provincial Government of Bohol marked a significant step toward responsible tourism governance with the signing of the Bohol Sustainable Tourism Development Code of 2025 on January 20, 2026, at the Ceremonial Hall of the New Capitol Building.

Governor Aris Aumentado signed the ordinance approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, establishing a legal framework for a more organized, resilient, and sustainable tourism industry. Authored and sponsored by Board Member Jamie Aumentado-Villamor, Chairperson of the Committee on Tourism, the Tourism Code provides clear policies on tourism development, heritage and environmental protection, regulation of tourism establishments, and inclusive growth for local communities.

The signing was witnessed by tourism stakeholders, members of the Provincial Board, and Capitol officials, underscoring Bohol’s shared commitment to sustainable tourism development.

BPTO Celebrates 2025 Achievements and Charts the Path Ahead

Bohol, December 18, 2025 — The Bohol Provincial Tourism Office (BPTO) held its Year-End Assessment and Appreciation at JJ’s Seafood Village, bringing together staff to recognize the year’s accomplishments and outstanding contributions. The event also provided an opportunity to review programs, share updates, and strengthen teamwork as BPTO looks ahead to the coming year.

Bohol Provincial Tourism Office Honors the Dedication of Municipal Tourism Officers at 4th MTO Forum 2025

BOHOL, December 12, 2025 — The Bohol Provincial Tourism Office recognized the dedication and efforts of the province’s tourism leaders during the 4th Municipal Tourism Officers Forum 2025 held at JJ’s Seafood Village. The event provided a platform for officers to exchange insights, share experiences, and discuss best practices in promoting Bohol’s tourism.

The forum opened with a welcome address by Ms. Joanne M. Pinat, OIC of the Bohol Provincial Tourism Office, and an inspirational message from Cong. John Geesnel “Baba” Yap, 1st District Congressman of Bohol. Key discussions included disaster preparedness updates by Dr. Anthony R. Damalerio, Ph.D., Head of the Bohol Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO), and practical insights shared by Mr. Reigh Monreal, Former Municipal Tourism Officer.

The program also featured the presentation of new tourism by-laws, the election of a new set of officers, and plaque presentations honoring the contributions of Municipal Tourism Officers.

The forum highlighted collaboration, leadership, and commitment among Bohol’s tourism officers, strengthening their role in promoting sustainable and community-focused tourism across the province.

Held on December 4 at the Bohol Showcase Center, the 5th Ubi Cook-Off 2025 once again highlighted the province’s rich culinary heritage and emerging talent. This year’s event drew participants from various backgrounds—professional chefs, passionate home cooks, and students taking their first steps in the culinary field.

The competition featured three key categories: Professional – Dessert, Home Cook – Main Dish and Soup, and Student – Appetizer. Each dish reflected the creativity and dedication of participants to elevate Ubi in both familiar and imaginative ways. Judging was led by an esteemed trio of culinary experts: Chef Ella Mae L. Adano, Chef Robemin N. Veloso, and Chef Paolo Rigotti, whose insights added depth and credibility to the competition.

The event was conducted by the Provincial Government of Bohol through the Bohol Provincial Tourism Office (BPTO), with support from the Provincial Economic Enterprise Management Office (PEEMO) – Café Caloy, coverage by the official media arm Provincial Information and Media Office (PIMO), sponsorship from Fiesta Gas by Petron, the official cooking gas and equipment partner providing stoves and gas for participants, and technical assistance from the Provincial General Services Office (PGSO), which provided the sound system for the event.

Due to the effects of TD Wilma, the Awarding of Winners originally scheduled for December 5 has been postponed until further notice. Updates on the rescheduled awarding will be announced in due course.

Tagbilaran City, November 13, 2025 — Over 40 representatives from various sectors gathered at the SP Session Hall, New Capitol Building, Tagbilaran City, for the Tourism Stakeholders Forum. The discussion was productive, providing a platform to share issues and concerns affecting Bohol’s tourism industry, explore possible solutions, and understand the reasons behind these challenges.

The forum underscored the importance of unity and collaboration among stakeholders as a key factor in advancing a stronger, sustainable, and thriving tourism sector for the good of Bohol.

Bohol Strengthens Tourism Presence at NorthPhil Expo 2025

The Provincial Government of Bohol, together with co-exhibitor Ramyer Travel & Tour, participated in the North Philippine Expo 2025 held on October 17–19, 2025, at SM City Clark, Pampanga.

Showcasing Bohol’s top destinations, local products, and community enterprises, the province generated ₱210,400 in total sales during the three-day event. The participation reflects Bohol’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable tourism and expand market connections across the country.

Organized by ATOCEL and PETCO, the NorthPhil Expo 2025 gathered 59 exhibitors under the theme “Championing the North, Driving Sustainable Transformation.” The event highlighted regional collaboration, tourism promotion, and sustainable development through cultural showcases, travel deals, and partnership discussions.

Bohol’s presence reaffirms its commitment to responsible tourism and inclusive growth — celebrating destinations, craftsmanship, and communities that make it a proud part of the Philippine tourism landscape.
