In observance of Metals and Engineering Week, declared under Proclamation No. 144, s. 2011, DOST-MIRDC shall observe the following office hours from 15 to 19 June 2026:

Office Hours
• Monday to Thursday: 7:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
• Friday: 7:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.

Regular office hours shall resume on 22 June 2026:
• Monday to Thursday: 7:00 A.M. – 7:00 P.M.

DOST-MIRDC continues to strengthen awareness and education on HIV and AIDS in support of every individual’s right to health and in compliance with DOST Administrative Order No. 009, s. 2026. An HIV-AIDS Awareness Seminar was successfully conducted for MIRDC employees through the joint efforts of the Gender and Development Technical Working Group (GAD-TWG) and the Finance and Administrative Division (FAD).

The seminar featured Mr. Ico Rudolfo Johnson, a DOH-certified HIV Counselor, who shared valuable insights on HIV awareness, prevention, testing, and the importance of eliminating misconceptions and stigma surrounding HIV and AIDS. To further encourage proactive healthcare, free HIV testing was also provided to employees during the activity.

MIRDC remains committed to fostering a workplace and community that values awareness, compassion, inclusivity, and health empowerment for all.

The Department of Science and Technology - Metals Industry Research and Development Center (DOST-MIRDC) welcomes the delegation all the way from Eastern Visayas: representatives from the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Catbalogan City, and Provincial Science and Technology (S&T) Office - Samar.

As part of the DOST and Catbalogan City LGU’s Smart and Sustainable Communities Program (SSCP) partnership, MIRDC was designated as one of the agencies to host the delegates for a facility tour and learn more about the Center's programs and services in hopes of exploring potential areas for collaboration that would benefit their region.

The tour highlights the Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMCen), featuring the various state-of-the-art 3D printer technologies that are housed within MIRDC. The Center’s experts also showcases the vast potential of using additive manufacturing technology, such as being utilized within the healthcare industry and even used in improving the country’s defense capabilities.
