๐๐๐๐: The Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command (CGHRMC) gathered for the regular Monday Morning Colors Ceremony today, on 25 May 2026 aboard Headquarters Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command (CGHRMC) reaffirming the commandโs commitment to discipline, professionalism, and service excellence.
The CGHRMC Monday Morning Colors was led by COMMO CHRISTINE PAULINE C BERGAรO PCG who also shared her remarkable inspirational message as the speaker of the day, expressing her letter of Gratitude to the personnel of the CGHRMC.
She also imparted words of wisdom to the CGHRMC personnel, emphasizing the three qualities that every leader and public servant must embody moral courage, strategic patience, and empathetic strength.
โThere are three qualities I believe we must carry within not as armor, but as lanterns. First is moral courage: to uphold standards when compromise is convenient; to advocate for a colleague whose name no one remembers, in a room where no one else will. Second, strategic patience: we build relationships with intention. We endure not because we lack urgency, but because we understand that lasting reform is a long game. Patience is not passivity; it is discipline in motion. And lastly, empathetic strength: we recognize that strength and softness are not opposites, but partners. And so we listen before we command. We see the person behind the rank. We build teams not through fear, but through trust. And in doing so, we do not diminish the institution we elevate it,โ she stated.
Moreover, she expressed her gratitude to the officers and personnel of CGHRMC while reminding them of the significance of their role within the organization.
โTo the officers of Human Resource Management Command your work touches each of these qualities every day. You shape the conditions under which people rise or struggle. You hold the balance between policy and personhood,โ she added.
COMMO CHRISTINE PAULINE C BERGAรO PCG continues to break barriers in maritime leadership through her distinguished service in the Philippine Coast Guard. Among all her prestigious achievements that is seen both in our country and in global sector, she became the first female pilot of the PCG, the first female Air Station Commander of OPLAN MATATAG in the West Philippine Sea, and the first and only female Commander of Aviation in the country. Expanding her influence internationally, she also became the first Filipina and ASEAN representative elected as Vice President of the World Maritime University Women's Association. A highly decorated officer, COMMO BERGAรO is a recipient of the GAD and PCW Pilak Award for Natatanging Juana, recognized as one of Tatler Asiaโs Most Influential personalities, and named among the fifteen awardees of the Outstanding Women in Nationโs Service 2025. Most recently, she was among the seven recipients of the Letter of Commendation from the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization during the IMO Gender Equality Awards 2026 held in London, recognizing her transformative contributions to advancing womenโs leadership in the maritime sector.
The Monday Morning Colors Ceremony continues to serve as a symbol of discipline, integrity, unity, and institutional pride, while providing an avenue to inspire personnel toward compassionate leadership, moral courage, and unwavering dedication to public service.
