A three-day, hybrid workshop on the Development of Food Systems-based Nutritional Guidelines for Filipinos (FSB-NGF), organized by the Department of Science and Technology - Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI) with the support of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), was held at the First Pacific Leadership Academy, Antipolo City, Rizal on 9-11 January 2024.
The workshop aimed to bring together food systems experts and stakeholders to collaboratively examine current evidence and contribute insights towards formulating recommendations, action points, and key messages that promote sustainable and healthy diets for the Filipino population.
Twenty-nine (29) participants from various organizations and institutions, such as DOST-FNRI, WWF-Philippines, FAO Headquarters and Country Office, Department of Health, National Nutrition Council, Department of Agriculture, National Academy of Science and Technology, International Institute of Rural Reconstruction, and National Sun Yat-sen University took part in the workshop.

High-level delegates from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) paid a courtesy call to the Department of Science and Technology - Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI) on November 8, 2023. The distinguished IAEA officials and DOST-FNRI officials and technical staff, including our NRU science research specialist Johanne Guilaran, engaged in a meaningful discussion to share significant updates on the IAEA-assisted Technical Cooperation projects implemented by DOST-FNRI and other relevant matters of mutual interests.
