𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈: The CGK9-EOD Force successfully conducted an official visit to the CBSA College Main Campus in Rigaud, Quebec, Canada from 28 March to 02 April 2026.

The PCG delegation was formally received by Mr. Maurizio Mannarino, Director General of the CBSA College Main Campus' Center of Canine Expertise reflecting the strong partnership and mutual commitment to advancing K9 capabilities.

The visit aimed to observe and gain valuable insights into the Detector Dog Program, with focus on specialized training for currency detection. Throughout the engagement, the delegates were given a comprehensive tour of the facilities, observed actual K9 operations and training sessions, and engaged in in-depth discussions on advanced dog training methodologies.

The delegation also had the honor of attending the graduation ceremony of the first dog handler teams specializing in Fentanyl detection, together with the new regular recruits of the CBSA highlighting the high standards and professionalism of their training program.

This engagement is expected to open doors for new insights, future trainings, and strengthened collaboration between the CBSA College and the PCG-PPA K9 Academy.

This meaningful engagement reinforces the CGK9-EOD Force's commitment to strengthening international cooperation and continuously enhancing its operational capability through the adoption of global best practices.

In line with the observance of the Holy Week, Coast Guard K9 Explosive Ordnance Disposal (CGK9-EOD) Teams are fully deployed nationwide to ensure the safety and orderly travel of all commuters.

CGK9 and EOD personnel are actively conducting random inspections of passenger baggage in ports and transportation hubs as travelers journey to their home provinces and reunite with their loved ones during this solemn season.

Our teams are strategically positioned in major and minor ports, railways, and land and sea transport terminals across the country. They remain on heightened alert—ready to assist, safeguard, and respond swiftly to any potential threats.

This nationwide deployment supports the directive of the Commandant, Philippine Coast Guard, and aligns with the directive of the President, Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., to uphold public safety and security throughout the Holy Week. The Philippine Coast Guard assures the public that all necessary measures are in place to ensure a peaceful, safe, and meaningful Semana Santa for all.

We encourage all biyaheros to stay vigilant, cooperate with security protocols, and promptly report any suspicious activities to authorities.

In connection with the National Women’s Month Celebration, the men and women personnel of the CGK9-EOD Force actively participated in a lecture on Anti-Sexual Harassment conducted by LCDR Vernon Basnic PCG held at Function Hall, Headquarters Coast Guard K9-EOD Force on 30 0900H March 2026.

The activity emphasized the importance of fostering a safe, respectful, and gender-sensitive working environment. It highlighted the rights, responsibilities, and proper conduct expected of every Coast Guard personnel, while reinforcing the commitment of the unit to prevent harassment and uphold the values of discipline, integrity, and mutual respect.

This initiative underscores our commitment to empowering women in law enforcement by equipping them with practical and effective self-defense skills rooted in Filipino martial heritage. More than just training, it is a testament to building confidence, resilience, and operational readiness.

The program reinforces a powerful message: skill, discipline, and readiness know no gender. In the demanding field of law enforcement, our female personnel continue to rise, break barriers, and lead with strength and professionalism.
