Held in celebration of Womenโ€™s Month through the Gender and Development Office (GAD), the tournament promoted camaraderie and womenโ€™s empowerment among city employees. It took place over two Saturdays, March 21 and 28, at the Dalupang Multipurpose Building, Barangay Central Signal.

Councilor Ivie Dizon attended the event and delivered a message on behalf of Mayor Lani Cayetano, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, unity, and collaboration in the sport of volleyball.

"Ladies one of the most important traits in playing volleyball is teamwork. No single player can receive, set, and spike on her own. Winning in volleyball means having to play with others and most importantly putting trust and confidence that each one of your teammates got your back."

She also noted how these values reflect the collective strength needed to advance true gender equality in society.

In addition to the main awards, the Best Cheerleading Chant Award was given to the department with the most spirited and enthusiastic support.

The awardees were:

Champion: City Social Welfare and Development Office
1st Place - Public Information Office
2nd Place - Sports and Development Office

Marie Sta Ana of the City Social Welfare and Development Office clinched the Most Valuable Player title, showcasing outstanding perseverance, determination, leadership, and competitive excellence throughout the tournament.

In line with the observance of International Womenโ€™s Month, the Taguig City Gender and Development (GAD) Office, in partnership with the City Health Office, conducted a health summit for street sweepers on March 27.

Around 600 street sweepers from various barangays gathered at the Hagonoy Sports Complex, where they attended lectures on Pinggang Pinoy and stress management. They also received free medical, dental, and reproductive health services, including tuberculosis screening, noncommunicable disease risk assessment, skin consultations, breast and cervical cancer screening, PhilHealth registration, and mental health and nutrition programs.

Under the nutrition program, participants received educational materials on balanced diet and proper eating habits, along with iodized salt and seeds for planting. In partnership with Culion Foundation, they also underwent tuberculosis testing and were given one kilogram of rice and two packs of germicidal soap.

Among the beneficiaries was Marites Naga, 45, a street sweeper from Barangay San Miguel for 15 years, who shared the importance of such initiatives given the demands of their work.

To our beloved Mayor Lani Cayetano, Iโ€™m so proud to have you by our side. โ€ she said.

Meanwhile, Rosemarie Redolosa of Barangay Hagonoy shared how her work helped her support her family after returning from Saudi Arabia.

Tumagal po ako sa trabahong ito dahil sa disiplina sa sarili at pakikisama sa mga tao,โ€ she said.

City Councilor Carlito Ogalinola, along with Councilors Ivie Dizon and Marisse Balina-Eron, attended the event. Ogalinola cited the cityโ€™s continued support for women and essential workers.

Led by its Gender and Development (GAD) Office, the city partnered with Lโ€™Orรฉal Philippines and SPARK! Philippines for the launch of the e-Beauty Advisorโ€”Beauty for a Better Life (eBA-BFBL) Program at Lakeshore Hall.

The initiative offers a structured, career-building series designed to help women thrive in the digital creator economy. Training modules cover aesthetic skills such as skincare, haircare, and makeup; alongside personal development topics including mental health, financial literacy, and sustainable consumption. Participants are also guided on how to register and grow as content creators.

Each trainee will receive a training kit worth P10,000, containing Lโ€™Orรฉal products and basic content creation tools, along with allowances and a certificate upon completion to help them start their journey in online content creation.

Mayor Lani Cayetano urged the 300 participating women, mostly students from Taguig City University, to take advantage of opportunities in the digital space.

Today and the coming days, we hope to guide you on how you can also achieve this. How a hobby can become something you can earn from, and actually an expression of your art and also your craft,โ€ she said, encouraging participants to believe in their ability to succeed and build a better future.

For his part, Lโ€™Orรฉal Philippines Managing Director Yassine Bakkari emphasized the role of women in the digital shift.

โ€œAs we celebrate Womenโ€™s Month, this launch carries an even more significant meaning; this program is a tribute to the strength and resilience of women. It is also our way of ensuring women stand at the forefront of the digital shift,โ€ he said.

Partners supporting the program include the Department of Trade and Industry, TikTok Philippines, Watsons Philippines, and Maya Philippines.

Also present during the launch were Councilor Ivy Dizon, GAD Office head Jingle Nechaldas, Lโ€™Orรฉal Corporate Affairs and Engagement Director Krhizzy Pasigan, SPARK PH Executive Director Maica Teves, and Senior Program Manager Hans Madanguit.

For participants like 19-year-old TCU student Princess Jamilla Endaya, the program opens new possibilities.

โ€œI love using makeup, it shows who I am and mas nabibigyan ng confidence. Maipapakita ko yung love ko for it through this program by giving recommendations,โ€ she said, noting that she hopes to share products suitable for people with sensitive skin like hers.

Fellow trainee Honey Jade Bation also pointed to the importance of financial independence for women.

โ€œAng tumatak po sa akin is how important kumita po yung mga babaeโ€ฆ I think it is important na may sariling source of income ang babae for her to get out of the situation she doesnโ€™t want to be in ," she said.

Women empowerment begins with an informed community. ๐ŸŒธ

Together, we continue to foster a culture of respect, protection, and inclusivityโ€”ensuring that every woman and child in Taguig feels safe and supported. ๐Ÿ’œ

13 years of standing up for what's right. ๐Ÿ’œ

In 2013, Sen. Pia S. Cayetano authored RA 10398, declaring November 25 as the National Consciousness Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Children. Through this law, she pushed for stronger campaigns, seminars, and school programs that keep the conversation alive and ensure that every woman and child in this country feels safe and protected.

๐ŸŒธ

Women entrepreneurs in the City of Taguig took center stage yet again as the Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Taguig officially opened the 2026 Womenโ€™s Bazaar with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, March 6, at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Parking Lot Area in Brgy. Tuktukan.

The bazaar, which will run every Friday of March (March 6, 13, 20, and 27), aims to provide more opportunities for women entrepreneurs to showcase their creativity, dedication, and locally made products. The initiative recognizes the vital role of women in community development while strengthening livelihood opportunities for families across Taguig.

Mayor Lani Cayetano led the opening ceremony together with District 1 Representative Cong. Ading Cruz Jr. and members of the City Council. The activity is part of the City Government of Taguigโ€™s celebration of National Womenโ€™s Month, which features a lineup of other programs including the Role of Young Women During Disaster Seminar, Perimenopause and Menopause Awareness Sessions, Health Summit for Street Sweepers, Inter-Department Womenโ€™s Volleyball Tournament, a three-day Violence Against Women and Children Womenโ€™s Caravan, and the E-Beauty Advisor Program.

Various local merchants and cooperatives showcased a wide range of products such as scented candles and essential oils, cookies, moist cakes, brownies, yoghurt drinks, mochaccino, Muslim dresses and modernized Muslim ternos, pastries, soaps and organic shampoo bars, bamboo toothbrushes, tote bags upcycled from rice sacks, crocheted merchandise, and other locally made goods. Among the participating merchants were Conquies Cafe, Sanmar Ensemada, Blair and Co., Taguig Kakanin Producerโ€™s Cooperative, Kambal Store, Likhang Maharlika Collection, Uncle Sam Bakeshop, Coffee Meet_PH, Sweet Rose Cakes and Desserts, Yolโ€™s Merchandize, Koop King MPC, DRS Arah Food Products, and ACDI MPC.

In her message, Mayor Lani Cayetano underscored the importance of supporting women entrepreneurs and recognizing their contributions to society.

Mayor Lani Cayetano also encouraged residents to learn about the stories behind the women-led businesses and to support their products.

โ€œI also encourage you to take a moment to know their stories. But by Godโ€™s grace, they were able to overcome and find their rightful place in society through programs such as this and the people that support them.โ€

Among the participating entrepreneurs was 62-year-old Dorothy Gregorio of Likhang Maharlika Collection, a cooperative of Muslim mothers producing modernized Muslim dresses and accessories that celebrate cultural identity while supporting livelihood for their members.

Meanwhile, Maria Luisa Sol, 61, of the Sewers for Equity and Welfare Producers Cooperative highlighted how the bazaar helps promote the work of their all-women cooperative, whose members are certified by the Taguig Manpower Training and Assessment Center (TMTC) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

Reinforcing its commitment to womenโ€™s health and well-being, the City of Taguig successfully conducted the โ€œPerimenopause and Menopause Awareness Seminarโ€ activity today, March 5, at the Taguig Lakeshore Hall.

As part of the Womenโ€™s Month Celebration 2026, around 500 female employees, ages 45 to 59 years old, serving in various City Government of Taguig departments gained vital knowledge about perimenopause and menopause, as well as how to navigate this life season.

During her message, City of Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano underscored the importance of the seminar and the local government's steadfast commitment to support women.

Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality Chairperson Councilor Ivie Dizon also extended her support during the seminar.

โ€œDahil isinusulong natin ang gender equality at inclusive society, under the leadership of Mayor Lani Cayetano, itong Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Taguig tungkulin patuloy bigyan kayo ng kaalaman, kayo ay masuportahan,โ€ she said.

The event, organized by the cityโ€™s Gender and Development (GAD) Office in partnership with the Aunteh Time with Karen and Bel podcast, medical professionals, and lifestyle coaches, provided a fresh, expert-driven perspective on perimenopause and menopause. These included medical insights from Dr. Stephanie Supan, who provided an overview of perimenopause and menopause, including common physical and emotional symptoms; Dr. Maria Nerissa Trinidad-Flores highlighted tips for managing skin and hair changes; and Dr. Noel Nathaniel Napa shared vital strategies for bone density and hormonal balance.

Aside from the medical expertise, practical support was also provided by Lifestyle and Wellness Coach Marilen Gonzales Elizalde and founder and CEO of ProAge Coach Claudine Viquiera on nutrition, diet, and movement; and emotional well-being, mindset shifts, and navigating relationships, respectively.

Aligned with the theme โ€œ๐™’๐™€ ๐™›๐™ค๐™ง ๐™‚๐™š๐™ฃ๐™™๐™š๐™ง ๐™€๐™ฆ๐™ช๐™–๐™ก๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™ฎ ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™™ ๐™„๐™ฃ๐™˜๐™ก๐™ช๐™จ๐™ž๐™ซ๐™š ๐™Ž๐™ค๐™˜๐™ž๐™š๐™ฉ๐™ฎ," the City Government of Taguig continues to empower every woman and ensure they have the support to thrive.
