Cheers to a stronger Philippines-Canada relations! 🇵🇭🤝🏻🇨🇦

The Office of the International Military Affairs, Philippine Army (OIMA, PA) led by its Chief, Colonel Tommy A. Deliva, spearheads the Cultural Briefing and Orientation for the Mobile Training Team (MTT) of the Philippine Army traveling to the Kingdom of Cambodia. In pursuance of the Defence Cooperation between the Philippine Army and the Royal Cambodian Army, the MTT will conduct the Combat Tracking Course and Infantry Operation in Urban Terrain Course 2024 in the Kingdom of Cambodia from June 28, 2024 to July 31, 2024.

Mr. Kim Amnath, First Secretary, together with Ms. Meng Siv Linh, Second Secretary of the Royal Embassy of Cambodia to the Republic of the Philippines impart their knowledge and expertise on the history and culture of Cambodia to the PA contingents from the First Scout Ranger Regiment and the Special Forces Regiment Airborne, Philippine Army.

Congratulations to the contingents from the First Scout Ranger Regiment for receiving a Silver Medal from the recently concluded Phase II of the Exercise Cambrian Patrol 2023 on October 7 to 9, 2023, in Wales, United Kingdom. 🇵🇭 🇬🇧

The Exercise Cambrian Patrol, also called the Olympics of Military Patrolling, is a mission-focused and scenario-based exercise comprising eight phases covering 16 events, including CBRN drills, Counter Improvised Explosive Devices, and a 60-kilometer patrol with climb and descent. Over 170 patrolling teams, including 40 from foreign countries, participated in the different phases of the exercise hosted by the 160th (Welsh) Brigade.

His Excellency Shambhu S. Kumaran, Ambassador of India to the Philippines rendered a Courtesy Call to LTGEN ROY M GALIDO PA, Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) on 10 October 2023 at Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

The Indian Ambassador and the CGPA discussed on exploring for opportunities to strengthen their military-to-military cooperation. Ambassador Kumaran also mentioned the possible deployment of a resident Indian Defense Attaché to the Philippines next year.

“OIMA, PA to strengthen PA personnel competency”

The Office of the International Military Affairs, Philippine Army (OIMA, PA) conducted a 3-day “Events Management Training” from 20-22 June 2023 at Luna Hall, Philippine Army Officers’ Clubhouse (PAOC), Fort Andres Bonifacio, Taguig City. It was participated by the Office personnel and participants from other staff as well as personnel from different units within the Headquarters Philippine Army. The activity aims to improve the competency level of the personnel executing command activities to further provide better quality and standard services.

Moreover, the training includes a series of lectures, forums, workshops, and simulations tasked for each group. The said activity was made possible by the Office’s stakeholder when it comes to conducting International Military Affairs Engagements – the Archiestic Events Production with its Director, Archie Dema-ala who also partake in giving events management hacks to the training participants.

Highlighted in the activity were the guest speakers from the Events Industry such as Cynthia Reantaso Bernabe, a renowned professor of Event Management at the Enderun Colleges, and a Senior Fellow of the Royal Institute of Management; Robert Frederick Hayden Jr., the Executive Director of Asian Institute of Maritime Studies; Ronald Vincent Soliven, the CEO of RVS Events Services Mangement, Inc.; Rodel Pangilinan Valdez, the Owner of Aiconic Events Management; and Patricia Real Barairo, an International Event Organizer.

The Deputy Chief of OIMA, PA – office primarily responsible for the activity - COL EMMANUEL G CABAHUG PA, on behalf of the Chief, OIMA, PA COL VON ALBERT M SUMERGIDO PA rendered the closing remarks and extended his sincerest appreciation to all the guest speakers, organizers and especially the participants of the Events Management Training.

Last May 20, 2023, the Army Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Potenciano C. Camba received the call of the United States National Guard Bureau Chief Gen. Daniel Robert P. Hokanson in the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Andres Bonifacio.
General Hokanson visited the Philippines to observe the State Partnership Program of the country with the National Guard counterparts in Guam and Hawaii. The formal visit also discussed the reserve force development and the best practices in the management of the reserve component of the two countries.

The Commanding General, Philippine Army, LTGEN ROMEO S BRAWNER JR PA participated in the Association of the U.S. Army’s Land Forces Pacific (LANPAC) Symposium and Exposition in Honolulu, Hawaii, U.S.A last 18 May 2023. As Keynote Speaker, the CGPA highlighted the role of multilateral engagements on training and exercises among like-minded nations in order to build a stronger and united deterrence against adversaries in today’s regional and global security landscape.

The Chief of Staff of the US Army, GEN JAMES C McCONVILLE visited the Headquarters Philippine Army on 10 May 2023. GEN McCONVILLE rendered a courtesy call to the Commanding General of the Philippine Army, LTGEN ROMEO S BRAWNER JR PA, and reaffirmed the mutual commitment to enhance bilateral security cooperation to ensure and sustain a free and open Indo-Pacific region.

The Philippine Army and the Royal Brunei Land Force conducted their annual Brunei-Philippines Army Working Group Meeting last 03 May 2023 at Dusit Thani Manila, Philippines. The said meeting discussed the bilateral activities of the two armies for the year and deliberated proposed engagements for CY 2024.
