Philippine Army and Australian Army training participants deepened interoperability in various warfighting functions in the ongoing Philippines-Australia Army-to-Army Exercise (PAAAE) “Kasangga” 2026-1 at various training sites in Camarines Sur.

KASANGGA 26-01, which means “ally” or “partner” in Filipino, includes training scenarios that will challenge the participating troops' skills and expertise while enhancing their knowledge of each other's tactics, techniques and procedures. The regular bilateral training exercise also supports the Army's active shift to External Security Operations (ESO).

The Philippine Army and the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) bolstered their combined cyber capabilities in the Salaknib Exercise's Cyber Exercise – Foundational Training Activity (CyberEx FTA) that concluded on May 29, 2026 at The Signal School, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

Army Chief Lt. Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete emphasized that the Army is strengthening its cybersecurity capabilities by upgrading systems and continuously training personnel as part of its modernization efforts.

Philippine Army Chief Lt. Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete shared a message of service and dedication to the West Visayas State University (WVSU) Class of 2026 academic achievers during the university's recognition ceremony at the WVSU Main Campus in La Paz, Iloilo City.

The Army Commanding General completed his secondary education at the WVSU Laboratory High School in 1986 before entering the Philippine Military Academy. He has since held key leadership roles in the highest echelons of the Army throughout his more than three decades of military service. Appointed as the the 67th Commanding General of the Philippine Army in July 2025, Lt. Gen. Nafarrete has placed the welfare of soldiers at the center of his leadership, emphasizing that soldiers are the organization's "greatest asset."

The Philippine Army and the Malaysian Army reinforced defense cooperation and enhanced interoperability as the two ground forces commenced the Malaysian-Philippine Army Training Activity Land MALPHI (Malaysia-Philippines) 24/2026 in an opening ceremony at the 10th Infantry Division's Headquarters in Camp General Manuel T. Yan Sr. in Mawab, Davao de Oro on June 1, 2026.
