𝐓𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐠, 𝐓𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐤 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧̃𝐨𝐬

Reinforcing the goal of improving healthcare access, Singapore-based non-profit organization Temasek Foundation conducted a site visit in Barangay Pinagsama on Monday, March 23.

The visit forms part of the City of Taguig’s ongoing partnership with the foundation, which supports the sponsorship of 350,000 residents’ Philhealth registrations through CareSpan Asia Inc., formalized on August 16, 2024. Covering a significant portion of the city’s population, the initiative marks one of Taguig’s largest efforts to expand healthcare coverage at the community level.

Through this program, beneficiaries are able to access essential healthcare services, including consultations and diagnostic services through the PhilHealth YAKAP—further strengthening the city’s commitment to making quality and accessible healthcare available, especially for vulnerable sectors.

During the visit, representatives from Temasek Foundation and CareSpan Asia Inc., together with the Taguig City Health Office, toured local health facilities and engaged with frontline health workers to better understand service delivery on the ground. Discussions also focused on identifying key areas for improvement and exploring strategies to further enhance the city’s healthcare programs.

Insights gathered from the visit are expected to guide future initiatives and support the continued rollout of responsive and inclusive healthcare services across the city.

Through sustained partnerships, the City of Taguig, under the leadership of Mayor Lani Cayetano, continues to strengthen its healthcare system—ensuring that every Taguigeño has access to quality healthcare.

The Lower Bicutan Health Center has temporarily relocated to the Lakeshore Activity Center to give way to an ongoing construction in the area.

Residents may continue to avail of essential health services at the Lakeshore Activity Center, located along TLC Park in the Lakeshore Area, from Monday to Friday, 7:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

We encourage everyone to take note of this temporary arrangement and proceed to the new location for their healthcare needs.

👉 ANO ANG PAP SMEAR?
Isang medical procedure kung saan kumukuha ng cells mula sa cervix upang masuri kung ito ay cancerous o abnormal. Tinatawag din itong Pap Test o Cervical Cytology. Maliban sa cervical cancer, ito ay ginagamit din upang matukoy kung may HPV infection at bacterial infection ang pasyente.

👉 ANO ANG VISUAL INSPECTION WITH ACETIC ACID O VIA?
Isang uri ng cervical cancer screening method kung saan binababad ang cotton swab sa 3-5% acetic acid (vinegar) at ipinapahid sa cervix upang matukoy kung ito ay may precancerous lesions.

👉 BAKIT MAHALAGA ANG PAP SMEAR, VIA AT HPV-DNA?
Ang Pap Smear at VIA ay mga pangunahing paraan upang matukoy habang maaga kung may cervical cancer ang isang babae.

Ang HPV-DNA test ay ginagamit din para matukoy kung mayroong pre-cancerous lesions o cervical cancer ang pasyente.

👉 PARA KANINO ITO?
✅ Inirerekomenda ang cervical cancer screening sa mga kababaihan na nasa edad 30 hanggang 65 taon
✅ Cervical cytology (Pap smear) - dapat isagawa kada 3 taon
✅ Visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA) - dapat isagawa kada 3 taon
✅ HPV-DNA test - dapat isagawa kada 5 taon

👉 LIBRENG PAP SMEAR AT VISUAL INSPECTION WITH ACETIC ACID SA LUNGSOD TAGUIG

Kung nais magpa-test, magpunta sa pinakamalapit na health center para sa libreng screening. Isinasagawa ito ng ating mga trained at qualified Registered Midwives (RM) upang matiyak ang maayos at ligtas na serbisyo.

Kanser sa malaking bituka (colon) at puwet (re**um). Maaaring magsimula ito sa isang polyp sa bituka kaya mahalagang magpatingin habang maaga.

👉GAANO KALAGANAP ANG COLORECTAL CANCER?
• Ayon sa Phil. Cancer Society, tatlo sa apat (75%) na may edad 50 pataas ang maaaring magkaroon nito. Ito ang pang-apat sa deadliest cancer sa Pilipinas.

👉ANO ANG SINTOMAS NG COLORECTAL CANCER?
• Madalas na panghihina at pagkapagod
• Pananakit ng tiyan
• Pagbaba ng timbang
• Madalas na pagtatae o diarrhea
• Laging may pakiramdam na kailangang dumumi
• Pagdurugo ng puwet o re**um na walang pananakit
• Maitim o may dugo na dumi

👉PAANO MAIIWASAN ANG COLORECTAL CANCER?
• Kumain ng maraming gulay at prutas
• Panatilihin ang tamang timbang
• Mag-exercise
• Iwasan ang pag-inom ng alak at paninigarilyo
• Bawasan ang pagkonsumo ng karne, processed food, de-lata at matatamis na pagkain

👉MAGPAKONSULTA HABANG MAAGA
Kung may sintomas ng Colorectal Cancer, magpatingin kaagad sa doktor.
Pumunta sa pinakamalapit na health center para sa libreng konsultasyon.

INGAT SA KAGAT - Ang Rabies ay 100% fatal, pero 100% preventable.

😺 🐶 ANO ANG RABIES?
Isang viral infection na nakukuha sa laway ng infected na hayop (karaniwang a*o at pusa), at naipapasa sa pamamagitan ng kagat, kalmot, o dila sa mga sugat.

😺 🐶 ANU-ANO ANG SINTOMAS NG RABIES SA TAO?
• Lagnat, pananakit ng ulo
• Pangangalay o pamamanhid sa lugar ng kagat
• Hirap sa pag-inom ng tubig (hydrophobia)
• Pagkabalisa, pagkalito o hallucinations
• Pagkamatay kung hindi maagapan

😺 🐶 PAANO MAKAKAIWAS SA RABIES?
✅ Iwasang makipaglaro sa hindi kilalang hayop
✅ Ipa-bakuna ang alagang hayop taun-taon
✅ Panatilihing nakatali o nasa loob ng bahay ang alaga
✅ Huwag hayaang gumala ang alaga sa kalye. Lagyan ng tali kung ilalabas

😺 🐶 ANU-ANO ANG MGA DAPAT GAWIN KAPAG NAKAGAT O NAKALMOT?
✅ Hugasan agad ang sugat gamit ang sabon at malinis na tubig (15 mins)
✅ Magpatingin agad sa health center o ospital
✅ Magpaturok ng anti-rabies vaccine sa Animal Bite Treatment Center
✅ Obserbahan ang hayop ng 10 araw
