𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗡𝗢𝗪 | Empowering communities through science education, the DOST-SEI successfully conducted the STEMpowering Seniors Seminar-Workshop for Barangay Putatan, Muntinlupa City.
Present during the activity were Ms. Cynthia T. Gayya, Chief Science Research Specialist (SRS) of the Science Education Innovations Division (SEID) of DOST-SEI; Mr. Rodelio de Asis, Supervising SRS of SEID; Ms. Jenny Deuda-Mercado, Chief of ECED, LGU Muntinlupa; Ms. Kirsten Rianzares, Assistant Treasurer representing Barangay Putatan; and Ms. Analyn Mercado, RSW, Head of the Social Services Department (SSD), LGU Muntinlupa City.
With the theme “𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗗𝗢𝗦𝗧-𝗦𝗘𝗜 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀,” the session highlights the vital role of lifelong learning and community engagement in science education.
This morning’s session features Teacher Jennifer Roxanne Daez from the UP Child Development Center, University of the Philippines Diliman, who lead an interactive workshop on DOST-SEI Storybooks and storytelling. Later this afternoon, Teacher Erickson Maclid from the Department of Family Life and Child Development (DFLCD), also from University of the Philippines Diliman, will facilitate the next learning session on the Bukas-Tuklas discovery boxes.
Together, we continue to bring science closer to every Filipino—across all ages—through meaningful and inclusive learning experiences.

| Justice Cecilia Muñoz Palma Senior High School officially joins the growing network of 21st Century Learning Environment Model (CLEM) Classrooms, becoming the 21st in the country. Designed to support active and student‑centered learning, the classroom integrates DOST‑SEI innovations such as Courseware, SIMATAR, and Virtual Laboratory Applications in Science (VLAS) to strengthen STEM skills inside real classrooms.
This milestone reflects the strong partnership of DOST, DOST-NCR,and DOST‑SEI, DepEd SDO Quezon City, JCMPSHS, and the Knights of Columbus Philippines Foundation, Inc.—working together to bring future‑ready STEM learning closer to Filipino students.

| Quezon City inaugurated its first 21st Century Learning Environment Model (CLEM) Classroom at Justice Cecilia Muñoz Palma Senior High School, marking the 21st CLEM facility established nationwide.
The learning hub promotes collaborative, student-centered STEM learning and features DOST-SEI resources such as Courseware, SIMATAR, and VLAS.

| Students, teachers, and visitors flocked to the DOST‑SEI booth at RSTW Region 1 to try the Virtual Laboratory Application in Science (VLAS)—and those who stopped by and gave it a try were left genuinely amazed, with plenty of “Wow!” 😮 moments. 🔬🧪✨
From kids discovering chemistry to adults enjoying the VR experience, VLAS proved how fun and engaging science can be. 🚀

| In the heart of Ilocos Sur, innovation met instruction as the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) delivered an engaging orientation on SIMATAR (Strategic Intervention Material for Teaching with Augmented Reality), the DOST Science and Mathematics Courseware (Grades 1–12), on the theme Making STEM Distinctly Filipino presentation.
Spearheaded by the Schools Division Office of Vigan City led the way—guiding teachers step-by-step in integrating these tools into Science and Mathematics classes, culminating in the development of lesson plans and exemplars grounded in real classroom practice.
With the presence of Schools Division Superintendent Ms. Vilma Eda, CESO V, together with the Assistant Schools Division Superintendent and the Education Program Supervisors for Science and Mathematics, the seminar affirmed a long-term commitment to capacity-building—ensuring that innovation moves from orientation to actual classroom practice.
