NCRPO RESPONSE THWARTS QUEZON CITY BREAK-IN; FIVE SUSPECTS ARRESTED, ₱76.7K IN STOLEN PROPERTY RECOVERED
A reported break-in at a food establishment in Quezon City was brought to a quick end after responding police officers intercepted five male suspects and recovered ₱76,697.04 worth of property allegedly taken from the establishment, along with tools believed to have been used to forcibly gain entry.
At around 3:47PM on September 4, 2026, the suspects allegedly dismantled the padlock securing the STP room of the fastfood along Quirino Highway corner M. Pascual Street, Barangay Baesa, Quezon City, using a crowbar.
The suspects reportedly took 18 tin cans containing used oil valued at ₱6,300 and 23 sealed tin cans of RBD vegetable oil valued at ₱70,397.04, before loading the items into a white 2023 Mitsubishi L300 van.
The alleged theft was witnessed by a store crew member, who immediately checked with the duty security personnel and confirmed that no authorized collection of the items had been scheduled. The witness promptly sought police assistance while the suspects were reportedly preparing to leave the area.
Responding personnel of Project 6 Police Station 15 acted on the information and intercepted the suspects at around 4:08PM along Road 20, Barangay Bahay Toro, Quezon City, effectively preventing them from getting away with the stolen property.
The five suspects, aged 21, 24, 28, 29, and 39, were placed under police custody. Police records verification further showed that the 28-year-old suspect had a previous case for alleged violation of Presidential Decree No. 1602, or the Anti-Gambling Law of the Philippines, while the 24-year-old suspect had a previous robbery case. Both cases were recorded as solved.
Recovered during the operation were the reported stolen items with a combined value of ₱76,697.04, as well as the 2023 Mitsubishi L300 van, an approximately 30-inch crowbar, a deformed screwdriver, and the dismantled padlock allegedly used in gaining entry to the establishment.
The incident highlights the importance of immediate reporting and coordinated police action in disrupting property crimes. The prompt response of police personnel, aided by the vigilance of the establishment's employees, enabled authorities to intercept the suspects shortly after the alleged break-in and recover the reported stolen property.
The operation is consistent with PNP Chief PGEN JOSE MELENCIO C. NARTATEZ, JR.’s Five-Focused Agenda, particularly the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) framework, which reinforces operational responsiveness and effective intervention against criminal activities. Under the leadership of PBGEN CHRISTOPHER N. ABRAHANO, Officer-in-Charge of the NCRPO, the regional police office continues to strengthen police visibility, coordination, and accountability in safeguarding communities, businesses, and private property.
“When criminals use force to take what does not belong to them, they should know that the police will be there to stop them and hold them accountable. This case shows what can be achieved when an alert citizen or employee reports a crime and our police respond with urgency. The NCRPO will continue to protect establishments and communities and ensure that offenders face the consequences of their actions under the law,” PBGen Abrahano said.
The five suspects remain under police custody and are set to undergo inquest proceedings for the alleged violation of Robbery with Force Upon Things under the Revised Penal Code. # # #
