Empowering teachers for a digitally-forward future!

To further elevate digital education, the City of Taguig’s DigiTech, in partnership with ViewSonic Philippines, held a teacher training session at the Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino High School, SHS ComLab on Thursday, May 28, 2026.

This training aims to sharpen teachers' skills in maximizing smart interactive display technology. By seamlessly integrating modern digital tools into daily instruction, the city strives to make classroom learning more efficient, engaging, and impactful for students.

The workshop brought together a total of 48 participants, featuring eight teacher representatives from various grade levels and subject areas. These tech-forward educators represented six participating schools, namely, Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino High School, Makati Science High School, Senator Renato “Compañero” Cayetano Memorial Science and Technology High School, Taguig National High School, Taguig Science High School, and Western Bicutan National High School.

The event featured sessions designed to build both foundational and advanced digital skills. Associate Professor Rowell Marquina from the National University and the Polytechnic University of the Philippines - Biñan Laguna, opened the event with an insightful segment focused on integrating artificial intelligence into modern teaching practices.

Ms. Lauren Apple Samala, ViewSonic Philippines Team Lead and Education Trainer, provided a refresher course on the basic functions of Interactive Flat Panels. She then transitioned into advanced lesson plan creation using the myViewBoard software.

Following the lectures, the educators put their knowledge into action during an engaging, hands-on workshop focused on creating interactive lessons using teaching software tools.

This proactive initiative directly aligns with Mayor Lani Cayetano’s Transformative, Lively, and Caring agenda. By ensuring that local educators are well-equipped, knowledgeable, and highly trained in digital transformation, Taguig remains steadfast in delivering digitally-embraced interventions for the benefit of its students.

📧 Ever wondered why junk emails are called spam?

The answer has nothing to do with computers—it started with a comedy sketch where the word “Spam” was repeated so often that it drowned out every conversation. Today, the term perfectly describes unwanted messages that flood our inboxes.
