The Philippine Army reiterates that Representative Barzaga’s removal from the Reserve Force was made in light of his social media statements posted prior the September 21 rally which were deemed to be insinuating sedition. These posts were further accompanied by a photo of him in military uniform, potentially creating public confusion regarding the position and neutrality of the Philippine Army.
The delisting of Representative Barzaga underscores the Army’s commitment to ensuring that all members—active or reserve—strictly adhere to the standards of conduct that preserve the integrity and trust of the Armed Forces.

The Philippine Army soldiers and reservists carried out Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) operations in communities hit hard by Super Typhoon “Nando” on September 23, 2025.
Philippine Army responders are working around the clock with national government agencies and local government units to ensure the safety and well-being of affected citizens. The Army’s HADR teams are ready and committed to delivering swift and coordinated disaster response efforts across the country as another tropical cyclone threatens to hit Luzon later this week.

The Philippine Army (PA) and Philippine Air Force (PAF) commenced the week-long 4th PA-PAF Interoperability Exercise on September 22, 2025 in an opening ceremony in Legazpi City, Albay.
The 4th PA – PAF IOX reinforces the Army’s commitment to seamless coordination between the two major service branches, ensuring that air and ground operations are conducted with precision and unity. The said exercise also aligns with Army Chief Lt. Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete’s command guidance that emphasizes the importance of training in ensuring the holistic human capital development of soldiers, the organization’s most valuable resource.

The State of Hawaii National Guard Adjutant General, Maj. Gen. Stephen F. Logan rendered a courtesy call on Philippine Army Inspector General Maj. Gen. Christopher C. Tampus, who represented Army Chief Lt. Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete, on September 22, 2025 at the Headquarters Philippine Army (HPA), Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
It can be recalled that Maj. Gen. Logan also visited the Army's main headquarters last month to reaffirm the strong ties between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Hawaii National Guard through the State Partnership Program which marks its 25th year this 2025.
