Here are the highlights from Day 2 of our 2-Day Seminar on “The Safety Shield: Safeguarding Patients from Infections and Medication Harm (Patient Care Management)” conducted last November 21, 2025, at the Davao del Norte Hospital – Carmen Conference Room.

The Nursing Council accredited this 2-day seminar with 15 CPD units, supporting the continuing professional development of our licensed nurses.

Day 2 featured discussions and activities that strengthened competencies in medication safety and patient care management, and alignment with current healthcare standards. The day concluded with the awarding of certificates to dedicated participants and expert resource speakers from SPMC.

Here are the highlights from Day 1 of our 2-Day Seminar on “The Safety Shield: Safeguarding Patients from Infections and Medication Harm (Patient Care Management)” held last November 20, 2025, at the Davao del Norte Hospital – Carmen Conference Room.

This Seminar is accredited with 15 CPD units for the Nursing Council, supporting the continuous professional development of our licensed nurses.

Day 1 covered essential topics on outbreak management, CDC standard precautions, cleaning and disinfection, healthcare waste management, and proper PPE use—facilitated by our expert speakers from SPMC.

Kicked off our orientation series with nursing students from Arriesgado College Foundation Inc. 🩷

Fostering Future Healthcare Professionals 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

PEEDO, along with the Davao del Norte Hospitals, recently conducted a series of orientations for the nursing and midwifery students from partner schools. These sessions were designed to equip students with vital information on hospital policies, code of conduct, and clinical protocols, ensuring they are well-prepared to uphold the highest standards of patient care, professionalism, and hospital safety.

Held at the Bulwagan ng Karunungan, Capitol Grounds, the orientations were attended by students and clinical instructors from:
✅ Arriesgado College Foundation Inc. – July 21 & 28
✅ Tagum Doctors College Inc. – July 30–31
✅ University of the Immaculate Conception – August 11

Key resource speakers included Nurse Supervisors Mr. Marlon Gildo, RN, Mr. Eutiqio Crizaldo, RN, and Mr. Allan Torcullas Jr., RN, from Davao del Norte Hospitals, as well as Supervising Administrative Officer Ms. Shalove C. Getizo. The event also featured an opening message from our PG Department Head, who warmly welcomed the student attendees.
