TAGUM CITY, Davao del Norte – Demonstrating its commitment to community development and support for education, the 10th Civil-Military Operations Battalion (10CMOBn) actively participated in the Brigada Eskwela program at La Filipina Elementary School in Tagum City.

Led by Lieutenant Colonel Tony C. Bugawan, Commanding Officer of 10CMOBn, Kalinaw Troopers joined teachers, parents, and community volunteers in preparing classrooms and school facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and conducive learning environment for students ahead of the opening of classes.

"I encourage everyone to continue working together in creating a safe and clean environment for our children. Let us remain committed to supporting education, as it is one of the foundations of lasting peace and community development," Lieutenant Colonel said "

From the halls of learning to the service of the nation, Lt. Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete comes home to his alma mater to ignite leadership, excellence, and patriotism among tomorrow's leaders and nation-builders.
Fondly called "Toto" by those close to him, Lt. Gen. Nafarrete is a proud member of West Visayas State University Laboratory High School Class of 1986. Today, he stands as the 67th Commanding General of the Philippine Army and a full-blooded Scout Ranger. He has led troops in every major mission across the archipelago, pioneered peace-building programs that brought displaced families back to their homes, and now leads the 110,000-strong Philippine Army under a clear and powerful leadership mantra: "Our People is Our Strength."
True to WVSU's motto "Where Excellence is a Tradition", Lt. Gen. Nafarrete is transforming the Philippine Army into a formidable fighting force guided by unyielding excellence and unwavering service to the nation.

NABUNTURAN, Davao de Oro – In support of sustaining peace and development in the Municipality of Compostela, the 10th Civil-Military Operations Battalion (10CMOBn), led by Lieutenant Colonel Tony C. Bugawan, together with Ms. Gwen M. Corrites, MLGOO VI and DILG Field Officer of Compostela, formally presented the municipality's Peace-Building and Community Development Initiative to Governor Raul Mabanglo of Davao de Oro on 06 June 2026 at the Provincial Capitol Compound, Barangay Cabidianan, Nabunturan, Davao de Oro.

The initiative highlights a Whole-of-Government approach that brings together the Local Government Unit, national government agencies, and other stakeholders in addressing labor-related concerns and community issues through responsive governance, social services, and development interventions. The program aims to strengthen community resilience and sustain the insurgency-free status of Davao de Oro by addressing the underlying conditions that may contribute to social unrest and dissatisfaction.

During the presentation, Governor Mabanglo expressed his full support for the initiative and underscored the importance of protecting workers' welfare and addressing legitimate labor concerns through timely government intervention.

The Governor emphasized that when workers are provided with adequate opportunities and fair compensation, they are less susceptible to the influence of groups that seek to exploit economic hardships and grievances. He further stressed that government agencies must remain proactive in responding to the needs of communities to prevent issues from escalating and to ensure that development reaches the grassroots level.

Also present during the meeting was Lieutenant Colonel Mark Serapion L. Lagud Jr., Commanding Officer of the 25th Infantry Battalion, who conveyed his support for the municipality's peace-building and community development efforts.

The Province of Davao de Oro and the Municipality of Compostela remain committed to fostering peaceful, empowered, and progressive communities through collaborative governance, responsive public service, and sustainable development programs. Through strong partnerships among government agencies, local leaders, and stakeholders, efforts continue to promote unity, stability, and inclusive growth for all residents.

The 10th Civil-Military Operations unit conducted a flag-raising ceremony this morning at Purok Ilang-Ilang, Barangay San Agustin, Tagum City, marking the first day of June 2026 with patriotism, unity, and recognition of exemplary service.
The activity was spearheaded by LIEUTENANT COLONEL TONY C BUGAWAN INF (GSC) PA, the commanding officer of 10CMOBn together with his dedicated and hardworking enlisted personnel. The ceremony highlighted the importance of commitment, discipline, and service to the community and the nation. As part of the event, special recognition was given to several enlisted personnel who celebrated their birthdays during the 2nd Quarter of this year. Tokens of appreciation were awarded in honor of their dedication, professionalism, and valuable contributions to the organization.
In his message, LTC BUGAWAN extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the birthday celebrants. He expressed his gratitude for their unwavering commitment to duty and encouraged all personnel to continue serving with integrity, excellence, and dedication.
The flag-raising ceremony served not only as a symbol of national pride but also as an opportunity to strengthen camaraderie among personnel while recognizing the efforts and achievements of those who faithfully perform their responsibilities. The 10th Civil Military Operations Battalion actively participated in the “Bangkasurero” clean-up activity conducted along the Nabintad River in Barangay Madaum, Tagum City on May 26, 2026. The environmental initiative aimed to promote cleanliness, proper waste disposal, and environmental awareness within the community.

The activity was spearheaded by LIEUTENANT COLONEL TONY C BUGAWAN INF (GSC) PA the commanding officer of 10CMOBn together with enlisted personnel of the battalion. The troops joined local residents in cleaning the riverbanks and segregating collected waste materials to help maintain a cleaner and healthier environment for the community.

Through this initiative, the battalion reaffirmed its commitment to community service and environmental protection by strengthening cooperation with local residents and encouraging collective responsibility in preserving natural resources.

On 25 May 2026, the 10th Civil Military Operations conducted a Flag Raising Ceremony at its Headquarters located in Purok Ilang-Ilang, Barangay San Agustin. The activity was attended by an officer and enlisted personnel headed by LIEUTENANT COLONEL TONY C BUGAWAN INF (GSC) PA, Commanding officer of 10th CMO Kalinaw Battalion.The event highlighted the unit’s commitment to discipline, professionalism, and public service while strengthening camaraderie among personnel.

As part of the program, a radio broadcasting activity and an awarding ceremony were conducted to recognize the hard work, dedication, and valuable contributions of personnel to the mission and accomplishments of the 10th CMO. The awarding ceremony aimed to inspire soldiers and personnel to continue performing their duties with excellence, integrity, and commitment in serving the community and the organization.

During his message, LTC BUGAWAN emphasized the importance of leadership, proper management of soldiers, and treating personnel with respect and fairness. He encouraged everyone to appreciate the efforts and contributions of every member of the unit, stressing that teamwork, discipline, and mutual respect are essential in achieving the mission of the 10th Civil Military Operations.

Eric Alfonso, Commanding Officer ng 79th Infantry Battalion, na ang pagtukoy sa mga sangkot sa engkwentro ay nakabatay sa ebidensya at sa masusing imbestigasyon ng mga awtoridad, kabilang ang Police Regional Office – Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) at Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO).

Ipinakita rin sa nasabing programa ang mga ulat hinggil sa iba’t ibang krimen na iniuugnay kay Roger “Ka Jhong” Fabillar, kabilang ang umano’y pagkakasangkot sa serye ng karahasan sa Hilagang Negros, na naging bahagi ng mas malawak na konteksto ng operasyon.
