As an information resource center, the University Library System provides information resources and services responsive to the curricular and research needs of all sectors


Core Function of the Library

To ensure the efficient, effective and cohesive work performance of all units in the system according to its main function as provider of information resources and services responsive to the needs of all the university sectors relative to curriculum and research. Specifically the System's main function is carried out through an efficient system of selection, procurement, organization and dissemination of library resources to end-users by competent, committed library information professionals and staff. Library Hours:
7:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Mon - Sat)

We are open for face-to-face services and transactions starting January 23, 2023, with the following service hours:

As we celebrate the Season of Creation 2026, from September 1 to October 4, the Library joins the USC community in reflecting on our responsibility as stewards of our common home.

Explore our “Living Water” Book Display featuring books that invite us to learn more about water, its importance to life, and the need to protect this vital resource.

Happy Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Carolinians!

On this blessed day, as we celebrate the birth of Our Lady, let us offer our hearts in prayer for strength, healing, and peace. Just as Our Mother lovingly guided and nurtured our Lord Jesus, may she also wrap her protective mantle around our entire Carolinian community—keeping us safe in mind, body, and spirit, especially amidst the haze and unhealthy air quality we are currently facing.

As our preliminary examinations are ongoing, let us lift up our special intentions and ask for the powerful intercession of Our Lady, Seat of Wisdom.
May she protect our health, calm our anxious hearts, and grant us focus, clarity, and wisdom as we prepare for our examinations.

Happy Birthday, dearest Mama Mary! Pray for us and keep us safe!

We mourn the passing of Dr. Resil B. Mojares, a distinguished scholar, writer, historian, and National Artist for Literature.

A treasured member of the University of San Carlos community, Dr. Mojares devoted his life to preserving and illuminating the history, literature, and cultural heritage of Cebu and the Philippines.

His legacy continues through his works and through the Resil B. Mojares Collection at the USC Library, where his donated materials remain a lasting resource for learning, research, and the preservation of our heritage.

May his words and scholarship continue to inspire generations to come.

Rest in peace, Dr. Mojares. Your legacy lives on.
