In its continuing commitment to ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment, Talavera National High School (TNHS), through its Care Center and Discipline Committee, conducted a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on October 28, 2026.

The activity brought together selected learners to share their insights, experiences, and recommendations on school safety, mental health, and overall well-being. Participants also raised observations and concerns regarding school facilities and existing safety measures, providing valuable inputs for identifying areas that need improvement.

The discussion was facilitated by Registered Guidance Counselors who guided the participants in expressing their perspectives and engaging in meaningful conversations about creating a safer and more mentally healthy school community.

The invited facilitators were Marty Ian Gideon T. Flores, RGC, of the Philippine Guidance & Counseling Association – Pangasinan Chapter; Melanie R. Gabriel, RGC, and Everly V. Santos, RGC, of the Pangasinan State University School of Advanced Studies; and Haidee T. Simon, RGC, Guidance Counselor of Exequiel R. Lina National High School in Licab, Nueva Ecija.

Through this initiative, TNHS continues to recognize the importance of listening to learners’ voices in strengthening school safety measures and promoting a school environment where every learner feels safe, heard, supported, and valued.

TALAVERA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL SUPPORTS THE 4H FRAMEWORK

In accordance with DepEd Memorandum No. 064, s. 2026, on Anticipatory Action, Preparedness, and Protective Measures for the 2026–2027 Super El Niño, Talavera National High School supports the implementation of the 4H Framework: HAYO, HINAY, HINGA, at HINTO.

This framework guides appropriate learning arrangements based on heat conditions, prioritizing the health, safety, and well-being of our learners, teachers, and school personnel while ensuring learning continuity whenever conditions permit.

HAYO – Manageable Conditions
Face-to-face classes continue as usual with heat-adapted measures, as needed.

HINAY – Caution
Reduced face-to-face hours, hybrid or home-based learning.

HINGA – Extreme Caution
Suspended face-to-face classes, reduced academic demand.

HINTO – Danger and Extreme Danger
Suspended activities (face-to-face and home-based learning) suspended.

Let us remain vigilant, stay hydrated, monitor heat conditions, and follow official advisories and established safety protocols.

TNHS CONDUCTS MENTAL HEALTH CARAVAN 2026, STRENGTHENS ACCESS TO LEARNER SUPPORT

Talavera National High School (TNHS) successfully conducted its Mental Health Caravan 2026 on October 23, 2026, carrying the theme, “Kumusta Ka? Care, Connection, and Professional Support for Every Learner,” to promote mental health awareness and strengthen access to emotional and professional support within the school community.

Organized by the TNHS Care Center and School Clinic, the initiative brought together mental health professionals, advocates, and learners to highlight the importance of compassionate listening, meaningful connections, and accessible mental health services. The activity was held with the full support of School Principal IV Dennis L. Serapio, whose leadership continues to advance programs that promote the well-being of learners and personnel.

The program also featured inspirational messages from Talavera North District Public Schools District Supervisor Dr. Ceasar C. Lopez, Barangay Pag-asa Captain Ram Joseph F. Manuzon, and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Social Worker Jervis Mallari, who emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in promoting a caring and supportive community.

A significant part of the caravan was the participation of volunteer mental health professionals and advocates who generously shared their expertise and provided professional support to the participants. Their involvement underscored the importance of making mental health services accessible and encouraging individuals to seek guidance when needed.

The event was further enriched by the performances of TNHS singers and performers under the Special Program for the Arts, with Glen S. Abare as their coach.

While the caravan has concluded, the school continues to encourage mutual understanding and a culture of care where seeking help is recognized as a positive step toward well-being.
