SA PAGDIRIWANG NG LINGGO NG NAKATATANDANG PILIPINO 2026 | OCTOBER 1–9, 2026 💖 🎉

Sa loob ng siyam na araw, naging makulay, masaya, at makabuluhan ang pagdiriwang ng Linggo ng Nakatatandang Pilipino 2026 para sa ating minamahal na Lolo’t Lola ng Haven for the Elderly! 🥰 🌸 Sa bawat aktibidad, muling naipakita ang kanilang talento, kakayahan, pagkamalikhain, karunungan, at kagandahang taglay sa bawat yugto ng kanilang buhay. Tunay na ang pagtanda ay hindi hadlang upang patuloy na matuto, mangarap, lumikha, at magbigay-inspirasyon sa iba.

🌟 Mula sa makulay na Mr. & Ms. Granny 2026 na tampok ang Trashion at Advocacy Presentation, hanggang sa sama-samang panonood sa Handog Eksine (HE) Film Showing, naging daan ang mga gawaing ito upang maipamalas ang kanilang kumpiyansa, adbokasiya, at pakikisalamuha. Naging makabuluhan din ang Productivity and Therapeutic Materials Exhibit, Art Contest, at Awarding of SANHE Members, na nagbigay-pagkilala sa kanilang mga likha, pagsisikap, aktibong pakikilahok, at mga kontribusyon sa ating komunidad. Bawat ngiti, palakpakan, at sandaling pinagsaluhan ay patunay na ang ating mga nakatatanda ay patuloy na may kakayahang magningning at magbigay ng saya sa kapwa.

Taos-puso ang aming pasasalamat sa lahat ng nakiisa at tumulong upang maging matagumpay ang mga aktibidad na ito. Higit sa mga paligsahan at programa, ang tunay na diwa ng pagdiriwang ay ang pagbibigay-halaga, pagmamahal, paggalang, at pagkilala sa ating mga Lolo’t Lola. Dahil sa Haven for the Elderly, bawat taon ng buhay ay mahalaga, bawat kuwento ay may saysay, at bawat nakatatanda ay karapat-dapat mahalin at pahalagahan na may pusong pagmamahal sa bawat isa. ❤️

SA PAGTATAPOS NG PAGDIRIWANG NG LINGGO NG MGA NAKATATANDANG PILIPINO,

Isang masaya at makabuluhang pagtatapos ng Linggo ng mga Nakatatandang Pilipino ang ating nasaksihan sa pamamagitan ng paligsahang Mister Granny at Miss Granny! Tampok din ang “Trashion” Competition, kung saan ipinamalas ng ating mga Lolo’t Lola ang kanilang pagkamalikhain sa paggawa ng mga kasuotang mula sa mga recyclable na materyales. Anim na pares ng ating mga minamahal na Lolo’t Lola ang buong tapang at kumpiyansang lumahok, na nagpakitang-gilas sa kanilang angking ganda, talino, personalidad, at husay sa pagrampa. Bawat kalahok ay nagbigay ng inspirasyon at patunay na ang edad ay hindi hadlang upang patuloy na matuto, magsaya, at magningning. Tunay na ipinamalas nila ang kahulugan ng pagtanda nang may dangal, saya, at kumpiyansa! 💖 🌸

Mabuhay ang ating mga nagwagi! Isang mainit na pagbati kay Miss Granny Flordevida at Mister Granny Joselito bilang mga kampeon ng paligsahan! Saludo rin kami sa lahat ng anim na pares na nakibahagi at nagbahagi ng kanilang talento at sigla. Sa pagtatapos ng ating pagdiriwang, patuloy nating ipagdiwang ang buhay, karanasan, karunungan, at natatanging halaga ng ating mga Lolo’t Lola. Sapagkat ang tunay na kagandahan ay hindi nasusukat sa edad, kundi sa ningning ng puso at siglang taglay sa bawat araw! 👵👴

Bukas, sa ganap na ika-9:00 ng umaga, magpapatagisan sila sa pagrampa gamit ang kanilang malikhaing "Trashion" (outfits gawa sa recycled materials) at ipapamalas ang angking husay sa pagsusulong ng kani-kanilang mga adbokasiya.

Happy Elderly Filipino Week 2026 💙

Masayang ipinagdiriwang ng Haven for the Elderly ang Elderly Filipino Week! Sa kasalukuyan, bahagi sa week-long activities celebration ang HANDOG EKSINE (HE) na inihanda ng Psychological Staff sa Therapy Room area ng Psychological Services, isang simpleng pagkakataon para sa ating mga lolo at lola na makapaglibang, magsaya, at magsama-sama sa simpleng inihandang mga palabas para sa kanila. Tampok sa mga palabas ang mga lumang pelikula para mas ramdam ng ating mga mahal na lolo at lola ang “cinema vibes”.

Patuloy nating bibigyang halaga ang kanilang buhay, kwento, at mga karanasan 🎬 ❤️. Hindi pa dito nagtatapos ang saya. Mas marami pang makabuluhan at masasayang aktibidad ang nakahanda para sa buong linggong pagdiriwang!

As part of the Center’s commitment to ensure continuity of care for the residents of Haven for the Elderly, particularly in addressing vision concerns that may occur as part of the normal aging process, the Center conducted an Eye Screening Activity on 01 October 2026.

A total of 10 personnel from Vision Pro Manila, Inc., in partnership with Community Chest Foundation, Inc., conducted the activity with the assistance of the Medical Service staff. The eye screening included tonometry, visual acuity (VA) testing, and ophthalmoscopy. A total of 260 residents (103 males and 157 females), 27 staff (11 males and 16 females), 2 Social Worker affiliates, and 4 Franciscan Nuns, underwent eye screening. Aside from the free eye screening services, the partner organizations also generously provided lunch for the residents and staff, which was warmly appreciated and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

The activity provided an additional avenue for the residents to have their eye health assessed and their vision concerns identified at the Center. This initiative supports the residents’ holistic care and well-being, enabling them to maintain their independence, functionality, and productivity.

Game On, HE! 🎉

From September 21–25, the Haven for the Elderly was filled with smiles, laughter, cheers, and wonderful memories as our residents and staff came together for our Sportfest!

The five-day celebration featured a variety of indoor sports and traditional Filipino games (larong Pinoy) that brought everyone together. Our teams enjoyed exciting activities such as basketball, volleyball, and other recreational games, as well as larong pinoy that brought out laughter, camaraderie, and a wonderful sense of nostalgia.

More than the games and friendly competition, our Sportfest was about participation, connection, and creating meaningful memories together. Whether playing, cheering for teammates, or encouraging one another, every resident and staff member had the opportunity to feel included, valued, and part of one big Haven family.

Our Sportfest aims to promote active and healthy living, social interaction, teamwork, confidence, and emotional well-being among our residents and staff. For our residents, these activities encourage safe physical movement, socialization, recreation, and a sense of belonging. For our staff, the activities strengthen teamwork, camaraderie, communication, and meaningful relationships with our residents and fellow colleagues.

The greatest victory was not simply found on the scoreboard—it was in the smiles, laughter, encouragement, friendships, and memories were created.

Because here at the Haven, every age deserves to play, every person deserves to belong, and every moment together is a memory worth cherishing.

The Haven for the Elderly (HE) conducted its First Semester 2026 Staff Participatory Accomplishment Presentation (SPAP) at the Center, with the Medical Service as the focal service. The activity was participated in by the different services and units of the Center to present their accomplishments and updates on the programs and services provided to the elderly residents during the first semester of 2026.

During the presentation, the Medical, Social, Home Life, Productivity, Psychological, Dietary, and Administrative Services/Unit shared their respective accomplishments, interventions, and activities in line with their functions and responsibilities. The discussion highlighted the provision of health care and monitoring, case management and psychosocial support, daily care and supervision, productive activities, psychological interventions, nutritious meals, and administrative and operational support. The activity also provided an opportunity to discuss challenges encountered, good practices, and areas for improvement, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and coordination in responding to the needs of the residents.

During the Ways Forward discussion, Center Head Ms. Marizal B. Bangniwan, RSW, MPA, emphasized the importance of sustaining the Center’s accomplishments and continuously improving the delivery of services. She encouraged the staff to strengthen coordination, address identified concerns, maximize available resources, and remain responsive to the needs of the elderly residents. The SPAP served as a venue to review accomplishments, identify areas for improvement, and establish directions for the succeeding semester, supporting the Center’s commitment to the health, safety, dignity, and overall well-being of its residents.
