In observance of Eid’l Adha (Feast of Sacrifice), Wednesday, May 27, 2026, has been declared a Regular Holiday nationwide pursuant to Proclamation No. 1264.

In connection with this, office operations and work are suspended on the said date.

Regular office transactions and services shall resume on the next working day.

The Committee on Peace & Order & Public Safety convened for a hearing today, May 18, 2026, to discuss concerns affecting community security and strengthening of existing measures to uphold peace, safety, and public order in the city.

The hearing highlighted the shared commitment of local officials and stakeholders in fostering a safer and more secure community for every Tandaganon.

Present were Committee Chairperson Hon. Hyna Jean R. Boniao, Vice-Chairperson Hon. Imelda C. Falcon, Member Hon. Antonio V. Salazar, together with Archie Cabrera, Social Worker II, PLT. Geill Resullar, Admin/CAD Officer, and Hon. Al P. Geli.

The Joint Committees on Land Boundaries and Settlement and on Human Rights, Laws & Justice convened a hearing to address a concern regarding the reported boundary dispute between Barangay Mabuhay, City of Tandag, and Barangay Cayale, Municipality of Tago, Surigao del Sur.

The hearing was attended by Committee Members and Barangay Officials of Mabuhay to address and seek appropriate actions toward a peaceful and orderly resolution of the matter.

Today, May 12, 2026, the Joint Committees on Land, Boundaries and Settlement (LBS); Human Rights, Laws and Justice (HRLJ); and Ways and Means (WM) conducted a Committee Hearing regarding the RTC Decision in Civil Case No. 2041-24 on the Confirmation of Territorial Jurisdiction of the City of Tandag and the Municipality of Tago, affirming Resolution No. 1557-24 of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Surigao del Sur, declaring that the disputed area forms part of the territorial jurisdiction of the City of Tandag.

Present during the Committee Hearing were Hon. Al P. Geli, Chair LBS; Hon. Hyna Jean R. Boniao, Chair WM; Hon. Maria Lourdes Kharin C. Momo, Vice-Chair HRLJ; Hon. Antonio V. Salazar, Vice-Chair WM; Hon. Ramil T. Montero, Member LBS; Hon. Rosario Ninfa G. Dumagan II, SP Member; Atty. Janissa P. Delicona, City Legal Officer/City Administrator-Designate, together with her staff; representatives from the City Planning and Development Office, City Assessor’s Office, and City Treasurer’s Office.

The Committee Hearing served as a venue to deliberate on appropriate legislative measures, strengthen coordination among concerned offices, and uphold the lawful and orderly implementation of the court decision for the welfare and best interest of the affected communities.

The Committee on Public Utilities and Renewable Energy conducted a hearing in line with its commitment to Sustainable Development and Efficient Public Utility Services.

Present during the hearing were Committee Chairperson Hon. Alvin C. Ty, Jr., Member Al P. Geli, together with representatives from SURSECO II and the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO).

The staff of the Secretary to the Sangguniang Panlungsod gathered after today’s session to discuss key takeaways and align on next steps in delivering efficient public service.
